Four Views Monumental Hotel

“ Wonderful hotel, spacious apartment, lovely people - all spoke great English - lovely food, great location and a lovely climate too!! We will return!!!!

“ Top Tip: Reids Palace Hotel is worth a visit for a wonderful view of the "Bay of Funchal" day and night.

Lots of restaurants and grill bars nearby.

“ No complaints about this place. The room was spacious, clean and well looked after. Kitchenette a bit small but adequately equipped for purpose. Reception staff very helpful. Only quibble was with the indoor pool. Very small and shallow and heating variable - was about the same temp as the sea on one day, altho staff denied it was colder than usual (but then, they weren't swimming in it.)
Hotel is perfectly situated with numerous restaurents etc within stone's throw. Supermarket couple of hundred yards on same street. Bus stops virtually on the doorstep.
Will go again.

“ Top Tip: Good pastry/coffee shop just down the road. Local prices altho staff consistently tried to cheat on charging and change. Recommended if you keep your wits about you. Bit further down the same main rd is supermarket - great if self-catering. It does range of ready cooked dishes which can be eating in or taken away. Tourist info office in shopping area next to hotel. Also recommend Japanese restaurent in complex around hotel. Great value buffet on Sunday.

“ I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The food in the retsurant was very good, with a good choice and the waiters were polite and friendly. There is a very frequent bus service into the centre of Funchal form outside the hotel. The outside swimming pool was quite small, and although it was close to the Lido in Funchal, this was closed during our stay. I didn't try the inside swimming pool or spa. The gym was fairly well equipped for a hotel gym.

“ Top Tip: We visited the Tourist Information Centre in Funchal to get a free bus map, which is useful if you want to visit touristattractions independently.

“ Great food, spotless, modern, friendly staff, good position for walking on the promenade and close to buses for town, free to use computers,.

Good sized room, fridge, air con, - would be worth paying for a room at the front if traffic and people noise in the morning bothers you.

Lovely pool, enjoyed the spa.

We would use this hotel again.

“ Top Tip: Buy cards for the buses at the newsagents in the shopping centre next door- you can top them up with as many jouneys as you like- much easier and cheaper than paying on the bus. If you use your card to go into town then on to another destination within an hour , only one jouney is taken from it.
One of our best days was a North and West minibus tour booked from an office just past the bus stop on the other side of the road- Funchal direction- lots of extra information and a three course meal, about €80 for two.
