“ We had a lovely, relaxing stay here.The hotel , once you had found your way around, was brilliant, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The room was large and being on the ground floor, had a large patio which was great. Rooms on higher floors would probably have had a better view,but the balcony would have been smaller.Beautiful gardens with an array of exotic plants and trees, swimming pools and plenty of sun loungers.The hotel is within reasonable walking distance of the centre of Funchal, but frequent buses stop at the end of the drive so it is very easy to get around. The food in the hotel was extremely good, buffet style at all meals, and always plenty of choice. There are also plenty of restaurants within walking distance, also a small supermarket and paper/card shop. Everybody we spoke to, both in the hotel and locally, were extremely friendly and helpful, so all in all it was a brilliant holiday.

hotel would have been better if every thing was open,cocktail bar closed,pool side bar closed.The entertainment should have started at 7.30 but it was usually about 8.15.The food was of very a poor quality and even when i went to breakfast at 7.15 it was already cold.
The gardens are really good flowers every where and they are labled so you know what you are looking at.The rooms are good, comfortable and clean and my finale words are about the staff thay very good at there jobs and very polite to the guests.

Hotel grounds are beautiful. Nicely decorated good sized suite. Helpful staff on reception. Cleaning & waiting staff all courteous.

Top Tip:
Don't miss out on doing a Levada walk. It was our top thing to do. If you buy a good walking book there is no need to use the guided tours.
Common sense & following the route as precisely described in the book is all you need to do.
