“ superb service. Great spa. Rooms fine. Super location. Great food, both dinner and lunches. Lovely breakfast al fresco on the terrrace with a view to the sea. Great to relax by the pool. Peaceful as not really geared for children.

Top Tip:
If you dine in and go a la carte it will take time but be worth it.
Good restaurants in town - 25 minute walk. Must catch a taxi back as it is fearsomely uphill.

“ This is a very nice hotel that we have stayed in before so were aware of its features. It is a little way out of town and the hotel courtesy bus is not frequent, so as long as you are happy to walk down or use buses (stop next to the hotel gate) or taxis then it is great. It is away from the main tourist area which to me is an advantage although it wouldn't be for everyone.

The hotel was 1st class as were the staff, who were friendly and helpful at all times.
One morning my wife let slip that it was her birthday, that evening on our return from a day out, we found a delicious birthday cake in our room.
The spa was great too.

Top Tip:
Try the Restaurant Adega da Quinta at the sister hotel called Quinta do Estreito it's V Good.
Also try the Armazem Do Sal Restaurant, Rua da Alfandega, Funcahal (phone details from the hotel). Excellent food and an outstanding wine cellar, all at a fair price.
