“ Very clean. Friendly helpful staff. Helena and Carlos at the pool bar attentive and welcoming.Resaurant lacking though. Tea making facilities would be good. It is supposed to be a 4* hotel but is really a good 3*.
“ Top Tip: Le Paella. Spanish restaurant right next door. Patricia and owner Antonio will make you welcome. Try steak on the stone or fish baked in salt.

“ The facilities were very clean and up to date and there was a handy lift to take you to the street and pool levels. The desk staff spoke very good English and were always willing to help. Not listed in the amenities was the fact that there was a hair dryer. Breakfast was basic but ample. I would certainly use this hotel again.
“ Top Tip: An excellent choice of restaurants all within 5 min walk

“ we had a wonderful week at the raga, the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Maria at the pool bar was lovely and the lady who attended to our room (504) was excellant/
“ Top Tip: lovely bars and restaurants, pingo supermarket excellant value for a meal and wine in the restaurant!!!!!!

The hotel itself was nice, clean and in a well placed position in the resort area. It was the day time (not the evening) receptionist staff who were the problem. They were off hand and gave little information. When asked questions they were quite rude and were all in all, very unhelpful. Not such a good impression when one first arrives at a hotel.
I had requested a sea view room but was given one around the back of the hotel. I arrived early due to flight times but could not check in till 2pm. When I went back at 2pm the room was still not ready! The receptionist "told" me to wait!
Such a shame because the hotel is nice and well positioned.
Madeira is beautiful. There are plenty more hotels nearby so I shall be booking one of those on my next visit.
