REASONABLY PRICED HOTEL ON THE EDGE OF THE OLD TOWN.
ALTHOUGH IT WAS SLIGHTLY AGEING AND DATED IT WAS CLEAN.
GOOD BREAKFAST.
ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE THE THICKNESS OF WALLS BETWEEN ROOMS AS YOU COULD HEAR VIRTUALLY EVERYTHING IN THE NEXT ROOM.

“ The hotel is ideally positioned in the historical area of Porto about 10 - 15 mins walk from the Trindad metro station which is 25 mins from the airport and only costs 2 Euros. The staff were very friendly and helpful and provided information about places to visit and eat out. Breakfast was very good and there is a small lounge and bar area. Although I wouldn't classify it as a four star hotel, I thought the hotel represented excellent value for money.
“ Top Tip: The yellow or red tourist buses are the best way to see the city because it has so many steep hills! The buses are hop on, hop off so you can stop off at any point to explore and look around. The only downside is if you go out of season they only run every hour, although you could get a normal bus if you wanted. I recommend taking a port wine tasting tour at one of the port wine cellars across the river. The up and coming Foz area of Porto has many modern cafes and restaurants along the beach and is worth a visit if you fancy a bit of sea air. Also nearby, although we didn't go on any trips, is the Douro wine region and bird sanctuary.

The city of Porto, built along the hillsides overlooking the mouth of the Douro river, is an outstanding urban landscape with a 1,000-year history. The Residencial Aviz is situated in the centre of the city, near principal monuments and the main shopping districts. The hotel offers a bar and breakfast room, a TV room, laundry service and comfortable guest rooms equipped with television and telephone.
“ Hotel was ok for our requirements which was a 3 day stay to watch a football match. The plumbing was noisey but the towels were changed every day and although small the room was clean and had daily maid service. Breakfast was limited but adequate. Overall no complaints for the money paid and suitable for the visit requirement.
