“ Suitable for middle aged couples. Hotel was very clean. Breakfast was good but not very organised, had to do a lot of asking on the first visit to restaurant. We made us of the hotels private carpark which was 12€ per night. Hotel is within easy reach of the river. Would be nice if hotel could provide Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room.

Top Tip:
Go onto the Hotels web site before you go and you will be able to spot the hotel on your arrival. If traveling by car, our Sat Nav from the airport took up straight to the hotel.
There is a restautant down the road on Rua de Manuel II, very cheap with big portions, real Portugees food. One review said to eat your dinners at Celia's cafe on the corner but it wasn't were we would like to eat in the evening. Restautants down by the river are more expensive but worth the visit to soak up the atmosphere.
The river trip is still only 10€.

Location good. Very clean and tidy. Staff were polite, attentive and multi-lingual. We were upgraded as they were quiet (Nov) and the room was very high standard and well maintained. Food was very good and plenty of it. English teabags too!!! Joy!!
Niggles - very few. Volume on TV limited to 20. You simply could not hear it - small mercy perhaps. My better half said the room was too cold, even though I turned the heat and fan setting to full. There are extra blankets in the ample storage space. Safe is included. No kettle in room.
But overall a very well run hotel. I would use again without hesitation.
“ Top Tip: Good location as launchpad for the centre (centro). The Tour bus has a stop at the end of the street. Metro is less than 10 mins away. Shops and restaurants all around and supermarkets in the street that runs parallel (behind the hotel).

Solar do Vinho do Porto: Quinta da Macieirinha - Rua de Entre Quintas, 220 Porto 4050-239. Located in the Jardins do Palacio de Cristal (very near the hotel) this elegant building is where you can sample port wine. It also has a beautiful outdoor terrace where you can sip your port overlooking the Douro. Fab!

“ Beautiful rooms with excellent situation in Porto.. to be highly recommended. Close to Arts Centres, places of interest and good eating. Exceptional staff with above average attention and wellcoming sense of humour... even in wet weather!
“ Top Tip: Excellent new Modern Art Museum. National de Soares Museum within walking distance with exceptional scuptures by Antinio Soares dos Reis and paintings by Henrique Pousao...comparable to any arts in Italy. Porto has 50's feel with trams and Galleries and book shops open until 1.00am and not a takeaway in sight!
