Excellent entrance and decor. The room was big and cleaned to a high standard every day.
My only issue with this 5 star hotel is the service at breakfast. Very unattentive and misarable staff. Not what I expected from a 5 star hotel.
“ Top Tip: The restaraunt RABELOS in the port area is superb. High quality fixture and fittings with a 1st floor area to view the river Doure. Excellent food at a very competive price.

excellent service and opulent decor. Restaurant menu disappointing, only 2 choices and no change of menu during our stay hence we only used it once. No details of the Spa treatment room anywhere, in the foyer, or in the rooms. Not even a sign as to where it was.
paid extra for a 'Habitacion room' but was no different to our friends' room so not sure what this meant.
“ Top Tip: open top bus really good value, 12 euros for 2 days and free entry to wine cellar. round trip was good 2 hours but could hop on hop off.

Excellent hideway Hotel, formerly a private house frquented by the rich and famous, but beware it is not mentioned on any of the Tourist Road Signs and can be difficult to find by car.
Staff are very helpful and attentive and the rooms well decorated in opulent but somewhat dark tones.
Public Areas are beautifully decorated and exude an air of quiet sophistication.
Breakfast is very extensive and offers good value as part of the room rate.
The Restaurant is a little austere and the prices can be frightening.
The Bar is fine but not well populated which is not surprising when 2 glasses of house Port will set you back 18 euros.
Downside was that the plate warmer was not working on the night we used the Restaurant resulting in near cold food. Not the sort of thing you expect in a 5star hotel
Parking is available at 10 Euros a night.
“ Top Tip: Some great Local Restaurant within walking distance where the `Meal of the Day` menu will set you back 3.5 Euros for 3 courses and a glass of wine.
