The hotel is centrally located and easy to find even if you are in Porto for the first time. The hotel staff were professional and all spoke good English. We had two rooms linked together, the master bedroom was spacious and clean, the other smaller bedroom was for our daughter and she enjoyed it. The bathroom was also spacious and clean with plenty of hot water, in the beginning the water from the taps was yellowish but soon it was back to normal, still we were not encouraged to drink from the taps. There was an air con - a bit noisy but did the job. The room was tidied every day and the bedding was clean and fresh. I would recommend the hotel to anyone going to Portugal.

Top Tip: The hotel had a fantastic restaurant. We were a bit sceptical to have our first dinner in the same place, but we never regretted it and came back every night ( apart from Sunday when the restaurant does not work - a bit disappointing). The service in the restaurant was superb and the chef absolutely brilliant. All the means were excellent, the wine too - try Monte Velho - really good price for the quality.

We had better breakfasts at other hotels in the same price range in N Portugal. Their coffee was very poor as was the juice (made from powder). The restaurant in the evening sounded very busy but there were so many other places to try in the area we did not eat there. Bathroom needed and overhaul especially tiles etc round the bath but shower worked very well.Very friendly people, spoke English well. Smashing position. Metro from airport to Trinidade then walk down the hill.

Top Tip: The very best thing we did was a tour around Graham's (take their courtesy bus from the bridge) followed by lunch in a tiny tasca (Casa Adao) on the Gaia river front. Local soup, tripe a mode Porto (much much better than it sounds)salad, house wine, bread and excellent coffee for 16 euros for two people.
