Excellent location near train/metro/bus stops/ stations.Very short walk to River Duro 5mins although longer coming back due to steep hills.Lovely restauant below
hotel with regular Fado/music nights.etc.Full of culture.We stayed on the 5th floor
in the dome with lovely views over the Avenieda Aliados ( although on our first night we were put into a room with a dirty coutyard view when we had booked a
superior double) all in all a lovely old original and clean hotel well worth the visit !

VERY WELL LOCATED BUT IF YOUR A LIGHT SLEEPER THEN ASK FOR A ROOM OUT THE BACK,AS THE MAIN SQUARE IS NOISEY DAY AND NIGHT.
THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY AVERAGE. BUT IN ALL FOR THE MONEY IT WAS ABOUT RIGHT.
STAFF ON RECEPTION WERE TOTALY BRILLIANT .
“ Top Tip: THE METRO STATION WAS ONLY 100METRES AWAY THE CAFE BAR UNDER THE HOTEL WAS GREAT,BUT EXPENSIVE FOR PORTO.

“ In an excellent central location but be warned - you may well be over looking a cobbled avenue which means a constant rumble of noise from traffic ( of which there is a lot) - ear plugs are essential for a good nights sleep. It has some gorgeous art-deco features - look out for the lights in the stairwell and the front door - but it looks tired and is in need of a revamp - but having said that if you are looking for somewhere to just lay your head while you appreciate Porto then I would say it is great value. The room we had was good sized, a little dated and tatty in places but very clean with fresh linen and towels every night. The continental breakfast - rolls, croissants etc was fresh and tasty and enough to see you through to lunch. The staff varied from lovely, friendly and helpful to the opposite - so in all, a mixed bunch.

Top Tip:
Beware of the one way streets if you are driving in central Porto - a (very) good navigator or a satnav is ESSENTIAL! Enjoy! x
Cafe Majestic is a must if you appreciate design and history - gorgeous in every sense. Found on Rua Santa Caterina, 112, 4000-442.
