Tryp Porto Centro Hotel

“ The place was shining. Clean and convenient, we had a great time.

My only issue was that even after very specifically requesting and paying for a double room, we got a twin room. Very unimpressed.

Breakfast was good though.

“ Top Tip: It's a short walk from the center and the river.

“ Hotel was adequate. Good sized rooms in good condition and excellent breakfast. Staff were very helpful and friendly but most of them didn't speak good English so communication could be difficult. The main disadvantage was that it was quite a long walk into the centre of town and, coming back, involved climbing some steep roads. The part of the street it was in was not too attractive either but, having said, that, it was very close to a metro station which was handy for getting to and from the airport.

“ Top Tip: Nothing of note in the immediate area.

“ The hotel itself was very lovely, the staff most friendly and the bedrooms more than comfortable. It seems to be quite far out according to Google Maps, however the staff at the hotel gave directions which made walking into town a journey of some 20 minutes on foot. Basically from the hotel you go down Rua da Alegria, then turn right onto Rua da Escola Normal and at the end of that very short road turn left onto Rua De Santa Catarina and follow the road which leads you into the heart of Porto centre.
