This was my second stay at Ac Alicante, both via Travel Republic. I like the place. It caters for the business market as well as tourists and the staff reflect the professional approach you would expect.
My room was excellent and it was a treat not to be offered fried eggs/bacon for breakfast, instead a seection of fresh fruit, pastries, meats etc.
Personally I enjoyed the short walk to the beach beyond the marina, calling into some of the many pavement cafes along the way.
There is a new Bus Station opposite the hotel which is handy if you want to explore further afield without using a car.
Yes, I'll be going back...
“
Top Tip:
I tried, before arrival, to book a tour of the mountains with mandarinabluetours, but unfortunately it's out of season and I was the only person they had who wanted to go that week, but I'll be trying them out when I next go (more in season) because I was very impressed with what they offered, and in the way in which they kept me informed of their efforts.
Another way of getting around, say a trip to Benidorm, costs 6 euro return on the tram (really nice new ones) from the station just after the beach.

“ The receptionist on duty when we arrived was not very good. It would appear she was covering while the regulars were at lunch. All the other receptionists who were on duty later, were very professional and helpful.
“ Top Tip: You need to walk into Alicante to find a good restaurant.

“ Very nice hotel. Ten minute walk to restaurants, shops, train station, bus station, beach. Two minute walk to bus stop for airport shuttle. It's a business hotel, we were the only tourists. Breakfast was good - staff friendly and helpful. Reception staff OK, speak English but not particularly friendly. There is a lovely but small fitness room and jacuzzi room with steam room. Lots of towels and free water and fantastic views over the sea. However, it was almost like the hotel didn't want you to use it. You were only allowed one keycard per room and you had to go to reception for it each time you wanted to use it and it expired after 5 minutes!! Who wants to go to the reception in a business hotel in their swimwear?! Also once you were in, if you left you'd have to go back to reception to get card reactivated. Also, you have to request for the steam room to be switched on each time you want to use it and the jacuzzi is freezing cold. It's a real shame as it's a lovely relaxing area. Rooms are modern, clean however a bit small. Free mini bar was a bonus.
“ Top Tip: Best value restaurants are close to the train station.

“ Stayed at hotel for 4 nights in October 2011. The hotel is situated abiut a 15 min walk from Alicante old town and beach. The main bus station is located about 50 meters away across a busy road which is very handy for the bus from the airport (€2.70). The hotel itself is spotlessy clean with a chic modern feel to it. The rooms come with a free mini bar which contains a couple of beers, water and soft drinks. There is also a flat screen TV in each room although disappontingly only had 2 English speaking channels. There is a roof top pool offering hreat views of the city as well as a spa and fitness centre. Breakfast was fine, good selection of cold food, breads, freshly squeezed juice etc. One slight problem regarding the location is the lack of restaurants nearby although the walk into town is very pleasant and not difficult. Would return
“ Top Tip: Get the bus from the airport C6 for €.70 stops across the rd from the hotel and is a much cheaper option than taxi.

“ Appreciate by the cost this was a budget hotel, and I have stayed there before on a short trip, definitely not a winter hotel, and during visit there were approx 8 other guests, mainly contractors. Suspect hotel more suited for contractors than visitors to Alicante
