Hotel Maya Alicante

“ hotel ok but the evening meal was terrible on the second night we all sent the meal back uneaten.Complained to restaurant staff and reception,it was cold not cooked properly.

“ Very good value for money. Slightly tatty in places, but clean. Standard of housekeeping very good. 5 minutes walk from the beach and from beach-side restaurants. Quite a walk to city centre shops, but these are accessible by local bus which stops literally outside the door. 10 minutes' walk from a huge hypermarket and commercial centre. Less than 5 minutes from a bus-stop on the C-6 airport bus route so very convenient for the airport. Right next to the impressive castillo de Santa Barbara.
Food in the bar was so-so. I didn't try the the restaurant. The pool and sunbathing decks were clean and well kept.
No facilities for making tea/coffee in the rooms.

“ Top Tip: The further you get from the beach, the better the restaurants get (and cheaper!). If you want a light snack rather than a full meal, look for restaurants that offer a canya + 1 tapa - this is a small glass of beer with a slice of tortilla, or some other tapa, usually for about 1.5 euors.
Have a look at the Carrer de sant antoni near the south-west base of the castillo - lots of pretty white-washed houses decorated with geraniums and other flowers.

“ The Maya Hotel rooms are basic but comfortable anb clean.This hotel is probably more suited for a one or two night stopover but I would not recommend this hotel as a holiday destination hotel.Food at the hotel was poor and cold

“ Top Tip: Easy access to Maya Hotel from Alicante Airport C6 bus from departure level bus stops approx.50 metres past hotel bus stop is called MARQ.Local bus stop outside hotel-Tram station about 20 metres where you can take the tram to Alicante centre or to Benidorm.
