Galetamar Hotel

“ A 3 star hotel but I,ve had better food at lower rated hotels.Room,s typical of this rating.My bed was hard to the point of discomfort.Staff in restaurant especially friendly....reception nothing special.This is an aparthotel, so in a ´´wardrobe´´ in your room you´ll find a kitchen.....fridge, 2 rings, sink, small cupboard space.....AND the hotel appear´s to be selling it´s room´s as studio´s so I think there is a fair number of resident´s.Has car parking and close to beach.If you want something cheap with car parking and don´t mind being at edge of Calpe you might consider this, but I´d look around as well for other´s that might be better

“ Top Tip: Calpe was very quiet when I was there....early March....I failed to find any bar´s with evening life.
Calpe has a number of very good ´´fish´´ restaurant´s by the harbour at harbour level....All the one´s I tried where spot on BUT....stand with your back to the fish market, looking at the strip of fish restaurant´s then look to your left and you´ll see a beach.Between the beach and the last fish restaurant is a staircase leading to coast road level.At top of these stairs turn left and there is a restaurant almost immediately offering a lunch at about 15-16 euro´s....this place is simply outstanding....DO NOT walk by.

“ Hotel was nice, right by the beach and overlooking the Calpe Rock. Our original room had a balcony that was right under the balcony of one of the private apartments, and the owner had tied plastic bags to her balcony (to keep her potplants in i assume) - these were flapping like mad in the high winds when we got there. As we specifically requested a quiet room, we asked first if they would request the bags removed (they requested but this was refused) and then we were moved to a bigger, better room - more like a suite. Staff V helpful in this.
Only problem we had was finding the Hotel! The building has GALETAMAR in big letters on one side - the side NOT facing the town. So we walked from the bus station (about 4km, the FGV train station is even further) not knowing where we were going. I don't think the hotel is particularly suitable for older people, as the road to it gets quite steep - having said that, it was full of elderly Spanish, as their government pays for pensioners to go on holiday once a year, and they seemed ok.

“ Top Tip: Lovely sandy, safe beach to the right out of the hotel, to the left you can find a little walkway all along the rocky seafront to the harbour and further. Very scenic.

I think some directions would have been helpful - in fact i think TravelRepublic could supply directions in the Hotel Voucher email.

“ We stayed in a 2 bedroom bungalow which was ideal for our requirements. Very quiet at this time of year, but enough restaurants a short walk along promendade and easy to get to beach. Parking outside bungalow. Supermarkets very near by on main road, but closed when we arrived as it was a local fiesta. Only used hotel for free wifi in reception.

“ Stayed in bungalow complex and it was very nice, clean with 2 english TV channels (BBC & ITV) and good basic equipment for cooking. Lovely balcony as we were on first floor with table & chairs. Pool good size with sun loungers doted around. Staff were particually helpful and happy.
