Areca Hotel

“ Nice hotel with good clean and very modern fittings. Very helpful reception. breakfast was very average and would probably have eaten at the airport if I had the benefit of hindsight!

“ Top Tip: Torrellano is a very Spanish little village in the middle of no-where buta couple of KMS from the airport. We arrived by train from Alicante ready for an early morning flight back to England. the train station was out of town unlit and very dark. the barking dogs in the house by the station made it a very uncomfortable arrival. there are no taxis at the statio so we hada half mile walk into the village to find the hotel.
The taxi in the morning wasa complete rip off at 10m euros fora two minute journey, one which i may add is not walkable despite it being only 2km from the airport.

The village had several spit and sawdust hostelries but one excellent tapas bar where we eat good quality tapas - although it appeared that there was a price list for locals and one for tourists. We were happy to pay the rate nonetheless.

With the benefit of hindisght we would have stayed this particular night in alicante for the difference in time, money etc was probably negligible but would have had less problems of finding the hotel from the station. A taxi from Alicante town to the hotel would have been more expensive than if we had travelled directly to the airport. therefore for this i would not use this as an option to base myself for an early morning flight although the hotel was good.

“ Five minutes by taxi from Alicante Airport. Hotel was extemely clean and beds were comfortable. Our room was tidied and repleneshed every day. Buffet style breakfast was fair. Although very pleasant and polite the main reception did have some staff that didn't speak much English and could not answer basic questions, however they did try to be helpful.

Fridges in room, but no tea making facilities

The hotel had a lovely spar, but it was closed all day and opened at 7pm in the evening on weekdays, this was disappointing. On Saturday and Sunday it opened in the morning for a couple of hours.

We would stay in this hotel again, but probably just for a 1 or 2 night stop over.

“ Top Tip: Buses into Alicante and back ran every half hour 2.70 euros return, this was a real good find as the taxi's were asking between 24-28 euros return. Very cheap and good resturants and bars a short walk from the Hotel.

“ A very good hotel with nice,clean modern rooms. Ideal for the airport stop off being 5 minutes from alicante airport. I stayed b and b. Food nice but do not expect your typical english breakfast, this is a spanish hotel and caters for Spanish. Staff were helpful and very polite.

“ Top Tip: The free airport bus provided by the hotel. Excellent.
