Meridional Hotel

“ Booking was smooth with no problems. A good 3-star hotel and helpful reception staff, only grumble was that the bed was a little too firm. Great location on the beach and just 10 minutes walk from from the centre of town and many small, inexpensive bars and restaurants. Hotel restaurant was fair and buffet breakfast was adequate.

“ Top Tip: Right on the beach and just a short drive to the great beach at La Marina.

“ This hotel is well worth a visit,you dont miss not having a pool as the beach is just across a narrow road.The beach is one of best youll ever find and you can walk out to sea for a long way before it gets deep.The hotel is spotless and you can't fault the rooms.The staff are all very friendly and helpfull all except for the small female behind the bar she was totally ignorant,and just left you stood at the bar,got the impression she did'nt like english people,we were the only ones there.The food at the evening was only average with small portions,but for 3* its acceptable.Its in a residential area so be prepared for a long walk into the centre.The Sunday market in el raso is not to be missed.

“ Well maintained and extremely clean hotel. Staff are very helpful and some do speak a little English and will help if you try to speak Spanish. Step out of the hotel, across the road is a beautiful beach with miles of sand. Buffet breakfast is plentiful with an excellent choice.

“ Top Tip: Argentinian restaurant near hotel was excellent.
For tapas try Bar Aroa near the beach front heading north from hotel.
Lots of good restaurants in town centre.

“ The restaurant facilities for the evening meal were poor in that the menu choice was very limited, the cost of what was available was overpriced and did not give value for money. The food itself did not warrant the cost paid and was very disappointing with regard to its quality.

We have put not near to restaurants as distance is a subjective thing. These were probabley at least 20 minutes walk away and the problem is returning after a meal later in the evening when distance is important.

The breakfast was fine and there are no complaints with regard to this.

The staff were attentive but clearly not enough available as ordering drinks in the bar or on the terrace was problematic and we saw at least two couples leave after they had waited for service for some considerable time and none was forthcoming.

“ Top Tip: Although 20 mins walk away Guardamar has plenty of good eateries with many people about including local families who clearly enjoy walking along the promenade.
