“ This is NOT a hotel it is apartments. There has been a name change it is now Elite Sun Beach, which made it very difficult to find. They had no facility for catering even though we had booked halfboard we had to eat in a Restaurent a good drive from the location. You definately need a car to get to town or beach. However, on a good point apartments were very clean and comfortable.

We've stayed at this hotel a couple of times, purely because it's handy for what we want. Yes, everything is clean and new, but thats about it, its pretty basic !
Pots and pans are in short supply, towels yes, but no soaps shampoos, washing-up liquid etc, No English TV. In our experience, Maids are rare, room service is about once every three or four days... in fact, they changed the bedding the day before we left .... ?
Breakfast is also Basic... get there early, coz when its gone that's it. ( we do our own ! ) 4/10.
PS warning, the toaster takes about 3 days to do a slice of bread properly, it runs a on car battery I think !

Top Tip:
We've been to Guardamar about 4 times, its quite nice and not as commercialised as some parts of spain, no gangs of drunks roaming around in football shirts, chanting. The beaches go for miles and are excellent. A few nice cafes and bars along the sea front, no kiss mi quick hats ! Some amazing sand scuplures on the beach opposite the cafes. Nice, typically Spanish cafe /restaurant at the northern end of the town centre, past the old fishermans cottages on the beach ( opposite the park ) not expensive ether. No shortage of other restaurants, italians, a couple of chinkies and curry houses too. The Taj Classic and the Agra. Not been in the Taj, but the Agra's not bad, starters and main course for 2 plus a couple beers, about 34 Euros. We sat outside last time... In November !!! From the hotel to the beach is a Good Walk. Ideally you need a car. If do have a car Alicante is about 15 mins drive, just follow the N332 it go's right past the front, easy parking, nice shops, the marinas nice, ("not the docks !") a few cafes and bars with large plazas with entertaintement in summer. Elche's worth a wander round, and Benidorm about 25 mins away. Overall 8/10.... it depends what you like. Check out google earth.

“ We had excellent & helpful service with 1 out of 3 receptionists. Then towards the end of stay the 4th receptionist was good as well. The hotel was excellent very clean, modern, tidy, well maintained, balcony was excellent, good facilities. Food was excellent at the restaurant but definately not catered for vegetarians (no fish/egg/meat). However, the hotel manager very kindly did meet our need. Very good for families with children of all ages. There was a terrible sewarage smell at times not sure whether it was coming through air conditioning? Also the water temperature kept on going cold and hot, which wasn't good for the kids. But overall the accommodation and furniture was excellent. We did spend quite a lot of time in there. There was no kettle. I was vomiting on Monday morning, and reported to the receptionist to clean and change the bedsheets - and they did very promptly. I would have preferred for fresh towels everyday and bedding was sufficent every 3 days especially with children.

Top Tip:
The nearest beach was 20-25 minutes walk which was not too bad - got a chance to walk. We browsed through shops which was good. There is a fantastic Maymas Supermarket round the corner from the hotel, just like sainsbury.
The hotel is a bit out of nowhere but there is plenty to do in the resort.
