“ Walking distance From trainstation or 5e on a cab! 15 minutes walk to on of the main squares, great location if we consider price! Decent breakfast, friendly staff all speaking good English, helpful! Rooms quite big, great size bathroom! All clean!! Was surprise that it's only 3 stars! Been in worse 4 stars hotels !! Sure I'd use it again if I go back! Highly recommend ! Especially if you go only for a city break like me and my girlfriend! Very pleasant stay indeed!

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean on arrival and cleaned well each day, with extra care taken by staff to arrange things attractively. It had a nice bar/lounge area, in which we enjoyed sitting and playing cards. Other guests did the same which made a good atmosphere. There was a basic computer which people took turns with, updating social sites, etc.
We thought the room, though clean, was a little rough round the edges: curtains that didn't run smoothly, a bedside light bracket bent, toilet door that didn't shut, broken toilet roll holder.
There was a lot of street noise during the night, but that is Barcelona for you!
The breakfast was 10 Euros, and provided bacon& eggs, colds meats and cheese, cereal, yoghurt, bread/pastries and coffee. More than you could eat. I have to say that the quality of each item was adequate, but not to get excited about.
We had one evening meal which was very enjoyable and cooked to a good standard. Main course and desert for two came to 40 Euros.
We really enjoyed our stay, and would keep the hotel on our list of possibilities if we returned to Barcelona. It held no nasty surprises, but provided us with an echo of the general friendliness of the city.

Top Tip:
The Metro is a great way to get round. We paid 20 Euros each for a four-day pass, which can be bought at any Metro station.
Explore Las Ramblas and its side streets for great restaurants (recommend Meson Jesus in Boqueria near Liceu Metro station) and a wide range of shops, from tacky gifts to very original crafts. Street-side stalls away from the main roads contain a wealth of very original items.
Visit La Sagrada Familia for awe-inspiring architecture, and Parc Guell for more of Gaudi's work.
The various museums and art collections are extremely well presented, but worth booking online to avoid queues - though the crowds are unavoidable.
Don't be intimidated by reports of pick-pocketing, but do be very careful. Although I only carried a bottle of water and information in my rucksack, I did find it completely unzipped at one point, presumably by someone searching for pickings. Take a copy of your passport so you can leave the original in the hotel safe, and only carry the cash you need for the day, shared out between each person in the group.
