“ The hotel looks good but does let itself down in some ways. I asked how the air conditioning worked, the controls were there, to be told that there was no air conditioning. We coped with that at this time of year but it must be terribly hot in the summer months. The room we were given was on the front of the Hotel and although on the top (7th) floor was very noisey. We asked for a room at the rear, which was quickly arranged and without any fuss. Much quieter. (Though the outlook was not good!). There is no tea/coffee in the room but you can pay extra for it. There is however a machine in the corridor on the 7th floor which is free - when its working. Carpets could have done with a clean but the room was otherwise okay. The continental breakfast was good. Didn't eat in, other than breakfast, but the food looked good and appeared reasonably priced.

“ Top Tip: The Metro is almost directly opposite the Hotel providing that you use the 'Parlamenta' exit. Getting around Barcelona is very easy. Do get a T-10 metro ticket. Some of the restaurants are expensive but just look around and you will find the same at a good price.

“ Hotel was excellent. This was the second time we stayed in this hotel and have already recommended it to some friends who are thinking of visiting Barcelona for their next holiday.

“ Top Tip: Port Vell is good for resturants and ice cream! It has a Haaggan Dass shop which was good! Also the Metro was excellent. The longest we waited for a train was a couple of minutes, clean, well policed. It's well worth getting a 3 or 4 day ticket depending on how long your stay is. The Poble Sec metro was just outstide the hotel across the road. I recommend using the metro to get about the town. We went all over on it!
