Helios Hotel

“ This hotel is very clean & the rooms are spotless - much nice than other Benidorm hotels I have stayed in BUT the food is rubbish the staff are rude (except the reception staff who wre fab) The restaurant staff DO NOT like the english and were downright awkward!! you cant sit outside at night either - although the accommodation is spot on the rest of it lets it down - there are plenty of other nicer hotels - Pueblo, Presidente, Ambassador, Venus to name but a few

“ I read the review on this hotel and I was a bit concerned. We had booked the hotel for just four nights (childfree courtesy of my mum)...just to have a bit of a break as we love benidorm. We normally go in apartments but the price of full board for our stay was just too tempting. We arrived to find spacious immaculately clean bedrooms and polite staff. On our way down to breakfast a guy in the lift told us the food in the hotel was terrible and they had only eaten there once in there week stay. We were a bit concerned but thought oh well lets give it a go. I have to say that I really dont no why people moan about the food. I appreciate the fact that we are willing to try most food...and yes there were the usual spanish salads and some spanish main course and very little on the sweet table...BUT...the food was lovely. All the food was piping hot, chips were cooked fresh in front of you in the restaurant and wernt soggy or dried up under the light. The meat was cooked fresh on the grill and the bread was always still warm and fresh from the oven. I was really impressed. I have to say also that the head waiter was constantly patrolling the food counters, checking the temperatures and appearance and cleanliness...in fact one day he musnt of liked the look of some dish and he summoned the chef out of the kitchen and made him taste it himself right there in the middle of the restaurant..it was then whipped away and a fresh dish was cooked. We would definitely stay in this hotel again...if your looking for gourmet food and 5 star treatment...then book somewhere else. If your looking for a prime location, tasty hot food and clean large rooms...then get it booked. The large walk in shower was particularly appealing too. There wasnt a lot of children in the hotel and I cant say what the entertainment is like (it is benidorm after all....who stays in hotels of an evening????) but it suited us perfectly. Will be booking again...but for our family holiday we will choose elsewhere.

“ Top Tip: If you go to the market at the back of the hotel...go as early as possible...oh and dont pay the price they give you ,,,barter with them...it works. Jumping jaks was our favourite day drinking as two bottles of kopparberg were 6 euros there...as opposed to Morgan Tavern (neptunes bar) which cost 11 euros for two bottle...hmmm bit of a difference there. Walk along beach into old benidorm...lovely!

from start to finish, all rooms booked (8) on same floor and not to high, food very good and plenty of choice, both hot and cold dishes, rooms large with plenty
of space and nice big balconies, staff friendly and polite, would go back to Helios anytime no complants from any of my group, plenty entertainment all around hotel, bars, nightclubs etc. can't comment on hotel's never stopped in at night.
lovely large swimming pool with lots of tables,chairs, and beds all round with bar
prices quite reasonable, the beach is about 10mins walk away and is fine for sunbathers and those who like a dip, plenty of cheap bars but, club prices abit more although you expect that with some good entertainers on.
All in all another great time enjoyed by everyone would not hesitate to book with
t/r again.
