“ Conveniently situated, the Royal Hotel is a well run establishment which offers value for money. The Reception staff are most polite and helpful. Rooms are of average size but are clean and well maintained. I am not in a position to comment on the lunch and evening meals, but breakfast is well presented and varied. The only 'chink in the armour' is the somewhat unprofessional attitude of the barman who for some reason decides to serve customers as and when he sees fit! Overall a most pleasant hotel which I would readily recommend.

“ The Hotel, rooms and food were well upto the 4* rating of the hotel. Being near the Old Town it was quiet at night, much appreciated. The main problem was the lack of evening entertainment, only one night out of seven and even that music catered mainly for the Spanish element of the guests, there was little music we could dance to.
“ Top Tip: The Benidorm Plaza, just across the road from the Royal, had entertainment every night and there was a fair mix of music, we went there every night. The Duke of Welligton pub was near by and served excellent food, well worth a visit. Travel by bus is cheap in Spain and for 1.40 euro we travel 10 miles to Altea where the Church there is well worth a visit.
