The hotel was utterly fabulous, the buildings, gardens, staff and atmosphere were simply awesome and the entire experience totally relaxing- even without making use of the spa facilities. Nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel is a short taxi ride from Benidorm town and the beach, but a visit there only served to remind me where not to go, which was a surprise.
It was necessary to speak to the duty manager about the dining arrangements for those of us on half board, but she was delightful and thanked us for bringing it to her attention. She also found us later to check that everything had been ok. I can understand why companies choose this hotel for their conferences, although their presence could have broken the spell of tranquility.
If you haven't been to the Barcelo Asia Gardens Hotel, then I strongly urge you to go!

Top Tip:
Despite trawling through the website and paperwork, no mention was made of the arrangements for half-board dining. It seems that although there are excellent restaurants within the hotel, only the buffet is available to half-boarders, unless the difference in price is paid by the customer, unless the buffet is unavailable. It took 5 days for the management to mention that.
Take several books- its too relaxing for just one!
And there is a lively atmosphere in the evening, especially when a corporate group let their hair down, so it isn't all quiet and tranquil.
Oh, and check that the transfer vehicle comes to the hotel and doesn't just wait outside by the roundabout and leave without you- its 70 Euro to the airport by taxi!

The facilities of the hotel were very good however because the hotel was not close to any centre there was no choice but to eat in the hotel and the various restaurants were only open at very limited times. The food was good - (although not fantastic).
Otherwise the Barcelo Asia Gardens was a perfect spot for a few days of relaxation within a few hours flight from London. My friend and I really enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider a revisit. Thank You.

Excellent from many point of view.
Only points that can be improved:
- provide kettles in room to be able to make your own coffee and tea
- make it easier to get snacks (it is too difficult to eat something at lunch or during the day if you do not want to seat at a proper restaurant for a full meal)
- English spoken is sometimes quite basic

really fab hotel ,friendly helpful staff,stunning surroundings real luxury if you want to be lazy!! food good something for everyone my only criticism hot food needs to be hotter (in the buffet restaurant ) as we were half board ,
little tip take a travel iron as no irons available for your room , they will iron for you but will cost a fortune !!! but over all we loved it would recommend !!!

“ Where do we start heating in hotel was none existant exept in your bedroom if you put it on,the bath water if you were lucky you may get two inches in the bath then it went stone cold.the staff were surley to the point of being ignorant at times leaving you standing there waiting to be served in the coffee bar whilst they carried on talking with other staff members.

This luxury hotel, opened in 2006, comprises a total of 175 rooms of which 146 are deluxe, 13 Junior suites, 14 executive suites, 1 presedencial suite and 1 Royal suite. Guests have access to a huge number of facilities such as varied restaurants and bars, a business center with internet access, a shop, room service, laundry service and a conference centre.
“ We stayed at the 5-star Gran Villaitana in Oct 2011. Hotel is very nice and staff were very friendly. Bedrooms are very spacious with a lovely balcony area. Breakfast was great & champagne was free to 5star guests.
