Sol Y Sombra Hotel

“ A comfortable, well presented hotel and room, with fantastically friendly staff that were approachable, even in the early hours of the morning.
The food included with the all inclusive option was a little hit-and-miss; and although dining there was quite caotic, the food was plentiful and more often on the pleasant side.
Just be careful to check if the typical guest profile suits you... We were stuck with the other 99% being senior citezens, which made things a little akward : )

“ Top Tip: A short walk to the beach, Old Town and the rest of Benedorm. But, In a unique position, in that it seemed to be out of the general tourist district, which was good for getting a good nights sleep.
Also check out the fantastic astrotufed rooftop with sunbeds, pool and spa, with a panoramic view of urban rooftops in front of the mounainous backdrop.

“ Very clean and staff were very polite. Mostly older Spanish people staying in this hotel. Excellent hotel if you are using it as a base to get around Benidorm . I'm not the kind of person who likes to hang around the hotel all day therefore it was ideal for me. I was only B&B and found that there was a big choice for breakfast. Maybe not your typical British breakfast but you should find something that you like.
Only 6 floors high therefore no need to wait around on lifts if you are on the first few floors.
Reading some of the negative reviews beforehand was a bit misleading.

“ Top Tip: Very near to shops, supermarket, bars and restaurants. If you are in Benidorm to have it large with the lads then it's most probably not the hotel for you.

“ THIS HOTEL IS ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF THE OLD TOWN, THE WALK TO THE CENTER OF THE OLD TOWN GETS VERY REPETATIVE. BUS STOP VERY HANDY TO GO TO LEVANTE ENTERTAINMENT AREA BUT THE BUS GOES THE LONG WAY ROUND, ITS A LONG WALK HOME AT THE END OF THE NIGHT.
THE HOTEL IS GOOD BUT GETTING A BIT OLD NOW, FOOD IS AVERAGE WITH LOTS OF FISH DISHES, BUT YOU GET FREE BEER, WINE,SANGRIA OR SOFTDRINKS WITH LUNCH AND DINNER WHICH IS A BONUS.
NOT MANY ENGLISH GUESTS IN THE HOTEL, MAINLY SPANISH, BUT THE RECEPTION STAFF SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH AND ARE VERY HELPFULL.
IF YOU WANT TO BE NEAR THE NIGHTLIFE THIS IS NOT THE HOTEL FOR YOU.

“ Top Tip: CHEAP BEER IN THE LOCAL BAR RIGHT OUTSIDE THE FRONT DOOR AND HD TV.

“ Great to be in a more spanish than british hotel. The food was good and there was plenty of it.

“ Top Tip: Loved the snorkelling on the middle beach.
