The Ducal Palace is located on the highest point of the town of Lerma. It was constructed on the site of a 15th Century castle as a place of lodging, rest and general enjoyment for King Felipe III. This building features a central courtyard surrounded by columned arcades in alternating sections: the first has 20 Tuscan columns with semi-circular arches, and the second has 20 Ionic columns. The palace was restored and converted into the hotel comprising 70 rooms and capable of accommodating up to 133 persons. Aside from the usual hotel services such as a restaurant and convention rooms, the air-conditioned hotel is also equipped with Internet/WLAN access (fees apply). Facilities include a lobby with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, currency exchange facility, lift access and a cafe. Guests may also take advantage of the room and laundry services (both subject to fees). The hotel offers a car park for guests arriving by car. There is also a garage available, subject to fees.The hotel is situated on the main square in the city of Lerma. The bus station is located in the immediate vicinity of the hotel and the nearest train station is in Burgos. This Hotel was super efficient, we arrived after a long drive, and they saw to us immediately and made us feel welcome.
We ate in their restaurant which was excellent, the food was so good, and there was plenty.
On our departure there was again the efficiency that should be in place for all Hotels.
Our room was very big and comfortable, the Hotel was very clean in all areas.
Plus, the Hotel is very beautiful with a lovely public seating area/lounge.

“ Beautiful parador good for stop if traveling south from Santander and arriving late evening. Breakfast was lovely great choice, did not have evening meal but I'm would be up to parador standards.

“ This Parador is beautiful it used to be a palace before conversion. Car parking is directly outside the hotel in the Plaza Mayor or you could make use of their garage but there was a charge. The massive lounge used to be the courtyard and it has had a glass ceiling put in place. Our bedroom was very big and had every facility you could wish for, even a 32" flat screen TV. Breakfast buffet was included in our package and it was of a very good standard. We stayed here en route from Alicante to the Santander ferry and it is only a 3 hours then to Santander.

“ The hotel was clean, efficient and the building was spectacular. The bedroom was spacious. The restaurants were very good and the service excellent. The menu was very regional and may not suit some tastes, however it catered well for vegetarians. The town bells, situated just across the street from our bedroom, were a little noisy and chimed every half hour! (the only downside)
“ Top Tip: The old town of Lerma (around the hotel) is very interseting and there was an excellent view from a walkway between 2 old buildings close to the hotel.

Surrounded by 5,000 me of wonderful gardens, this renovated hotel features several annexe blocks with 3 to 5 floors and comprises a total of 126 rooms of which 15 are single rooms, 107 are double rooms and 4 are suites. Amongst the facilities count a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a safe, a currency exchange facility and lifts as well as a TV room, conference rooms, a bicycle storage facility, a garage and a car park. Guests may enjoy a bite to eat in the hotel cafe or in the air-conditioned e la carte restaurant that features highchairs for infants as well as make use of the public Internet terminal. Room service may be taken advantage of.

“ The hotel was very noisy. We had a room over the kitchens, there was a couple with a dog across the corridor which was barking in the room at 10.00PM and as it was Epiphany fiesta there were children allowed to run around on the staircase until we complained at Midnight. The management appeared to have no regard for guests staying at the hotel. We would not recommend this hotel.
