Palacio Santa Cruz De Mudela Hotel

“ This hotel certainly did not live up to exspectatons. We arrived late afternoon on monday 3 oct and booked in.
We were going to go for a swim but the pool had not been cleaned, the hotel bar was not open ( about 5.30 ) so we walked into the town which was very quite.
no restaurants in the town so we had no alternative but to eat at the hotel. The hotel restaurant was only open from 9.00pm and shut at 11.00pm. We thought that this was a late opening time especially after a long drive
The meal was ok but 2 out of 4 of the wine glasses had lipstick on and had to changed.
Our room was ok but the other room our friends were in had faulty plumbing and they could not shower either that evening or next morning. The hotel could not fix the problem.
The breakfast was the worst i have had in any hotel and all four of our party complained.
There was no cereals, no fruit, no cheese, no eggs or hot food just a small quantity of cooked meats and 3 small yogerts. The bread on the table was hard and inedible.
When we complained some bread rolls were brought with a small amount of cheese and fruit.
The coffee was undrinkable and nobody drank it.
To sum up this hotel was not 4 star as shown on the website.
The hotel staff tried to be helpfull but the management did not want to know and avoided the issues.

“ Stayed in this hotel couple of times when traveling north and south between Santander and Andalucia. Small hotel where staff are very friendly. Evening meal excellent value, 3 course meal included, bottle wine, bread,water and tapas all included.

This was first time had booked at week end, not as busy during the week. However the atmosphere in the courtyard, late evening after the meal for drinks was very relaxed. Mostly Spanish guests helps if you know little Spanish.

Swimming pool if you wished to sunbathe.

“ This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. I travel on a low budget and would expect to pay about 5 times as much for the luxury of this hotel if it were in England. Here are some of the plus-points: Plentiful free parking; Friendly staff who make an effort to speak English; spacious attractive Moroccan-style inner courtyard area; spacious room and en-suite with quality fittings; clean; fresh buffet breakfast with a large selection, particularly of fruit. The town that the hotel is located in has everything you need: shops for all budgets, restaurant, bar, plaza, church… all in easy walking distance and it is just off the motorway junction.

“ Top Tip: The local residents of all ages socialise in the central plaza during the evening.
