“ We were impressed with the high standards of service and cleanliness and the quality of the bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast was fine although after a few days there was only tinned fruit available in the bowls and the choice of cereals could be improved upon. The pool area is very nice, and the hotel is close to the beach and restaurants. I would definitely return to this hotel and to Campello.
“ Top Tip: Altea, just beyond Benidorm, is worth a visit, with its lovely hilltop church, whitewashed houses, interesting shops and restaurants and fabulous views. The Tuesday market is nice.

Myself and a friend stayed in this hotel for a long weekend break at the beginning of May. It is situated towards one end of town and it is up a few steps, but they are graduated and it's good exercise!
We had a twin room on the 8th floor. Good sized rooms with large beds and lots of wardrobe space. Large bathrooms with great shower over the bath and two sinks with loads of vanity space. The balcony was very small but good views and we left the balcony doors open all the time to air the room. There is also a good sized fridge for water and beers in the rooms. The quality of the rooms is very good. The rooms were cleaned well every day and the hotel was spotless.
The breakfast times were good, serving until 11am at the weekends. The selection of food is great for a Spanish hotel. Yes, the 'hot' option is kept out in water heated trays which don't really keep warm, but if you are really that bothered then use the microwave provided to heat it up! There is a wide selection of meats and cheese, fruit and yoghurt, bread and jams, pastries, juices, teas and coffee. I thought the breakfast was great and we only paid an extra £2 per day so excellent value! We ate out the rest of the time as there are many good restaurants along the promenade with great views and often reasonably priced.
The pool area is nice and private and gets the sun all day. It was not very busy when we were there so had no problems getting beds. The pool bar wasn't open but it really is not an effort to take the lift up to the hotel bar!
The staff were always pleasant and helpful. An English lady works on reception occasionally which was handy when we were planning our journey back to the airport.
We got a great deal on this hotel and only paid £21 pppn B&B. At this price I think it was excellent value and would definitely recommend it!

Top Tip:
Express tram takes about 20 mins, and the connecting airport bus goes from the roundabout at the end of the El Campello tram line. Restaurants in El Campello are nice. 'La Cova' was lovely but slightly over-rated I would say. The bars are open late but are fairly low key. If you fancy something a bit more lively then head into Alicante. (Or Benidorm if that is what floats your boat?!) There are NO supermarkets open on a Sunday so stock your fridge up on Saturday. Also, many families eat out for Sunday lunch and it is very busy, consequently there are not many restaurants open on Sunday evening.
This is a great Spanish resort with a lovely beach. Not many English and you may need to speak a little Spanish so we loved it and thought it was great for a relaxed weekend break in the sun!

“ the gran campello was clean and tidy, tiny balcony, not worth having one, breakfast buffet was cold every morning, unless you want to wake up at 7.30 every morning, receptionist was very helpful,no staff on,no one on bar duty, had to wait 20 mins to get someone to make me a coffee, pool bar was closed so had to buy beer from main bar(10 to 20 min wait, thats not a queue, just lack of staff) go out side get the lift to the pool.one morning went for early morning walk, got back about 8am and the staff were waiting for me to borrow my lighter to light the kitchen equipment,so the guests could have breakfast,so i went out and bought them a kitchen lighter.hotel 4 star, staff and amenities 2 star
“ Top Tip: la castella restaurant and bar, lovely people and great food
