“ The positioning of the hotel is wonderful, overlooking the beach on one side, a leafy little square on the other. The train station is also very close, but I found this no problem, in fact it was ideal for arriving/departing and getting about for days out. The hotel’s public areas are all very pleasant with large statues, sculptures and china pieces placed all over the rooms. We paid extra for superior rooms, but in my opinion they are still quite basic (I wonder what the standard rooms are like?). The beds were small, furniture old and my TV had no remote control. Rooms were cleaned every day. The website states that superior rooms have sea views, but we were not given them (until I had a very strong conversation with reception). The staff were all very pleasant, hardworking and helpful. Drinks are served in plastic cups, but I have seen this before in all inclusives and do not find it a big issue. Unfortunately, the food was generally of a poor standard, breakfast was not too bad, but the only egg choice was hard boiled. Lunch and dinner was always disappointing, meat and fish were tough and overcooked, anything battered was over battered, veg was watery and tasteless; the only potatoes were chipped, although once I saw spinach mixed in with instant mashed potato. Puddings were few and very samey. Salads were OK, probably the best option. Drinks at meals were self-service and all OK. Again, staff worked hard and were always pleasant and helpful.
Bearing all the aforementioned in mind, you get what you pay for and this maybe explains the standard of catering on offer. I would not return to this hotel. This hotel has massive potential purely based on its location, such a shame the catering and very basic rooms let it down so badly.

“ Top Tip: The Black Bull pub, a few yards down from the Tabac shop is a lovely pub, Jordi who runs it is very friendly and entertaining. Trips on the train/bus to Calella and Lloret de Mar were easy and good fun.
