“ Positives - staff very friendly, hospitable and helpful; hotel very clean; towels changed on request; hotel centrally located near beach and amenities.
Negatives - bed uncomfortable; TV channels not tuned in so only two working; basic and unappetising breakfast of juice, bread, butter, jam and hot drink that did not vary; stayed in room 41 next to lift so very noisy; toilet built too close to wall so has to be sat on diagonally; noise from street outside and bar downstairs until 4am so sleep constantly interrupted; rooms at back of hotel with terrace may be quieter; constant dog barking at all hours from building opposite.

“ Top Tip: Found an excellent restaurant for Menu del Dia in the evening - 4 courses with bread and wine for between 13 and 14 Euros depending on the day. Restaurant Can Segura in Carrer del Sant Pepe number 11. Family owned since 1960. Excellent quality and value and staff very friendly. Also a bar where local people drink with beer at half the price of elsewhere - Cafeteria Guixols, Carrer Gravina 1. Also has food at very reasonable prices. Staff again very friendly. Town beach is in harbour so water not very clean. Half an hours's walk away is Cala Ametller in a nature reserve. Water crystal clear but access only for fit and active as there isn't a beach.
