“ The hotel is nice, clean and the staff are friendly and approachable. On the negative side: the restuarant has very limited choice for evening meal if you choose the half board option as I did, the 'Menu del dia' is set with only one option for each course, I do not eat meat and so I had to negotiate alternatives with the waiter service, not ideal! The bar is not staffed at all times and closes by 11:25 each night. All in all though, I would reccomend this hotel for short breaks of a maximum of 5-days.

Lovely hotel with fantastic views and a nice outdoor pool overlooking a pretty beach.
Very good breakfast with plenty of choice. Restaurant has very good evening meals although it is lacking in atmosphere unless you are outside on the terrace
“ Top Tip: Lovely coastal walk to a spectacular cove

We couldn't have been more fortunate with our choice of hotel and location than the Rocamar at Cadaques. We had booked a mountain view room without balcony through Travel Republic but were lucky that there was an annexe family room available with terrace overlooking both the mountain and the sea for a little extra on arrival.
Rocamar is beautifully situated overlooking one of the most picturesque bays I have ever seen- a true Mediterranean haven of crystal clear waters, whitewashed houses, Catalan taverns with a bohemian and relaxed feel. The hotel is well equipped and well maintained with good swimming pool, tennis courts, restaurant and a few steps down to a shingly beach. It's a great location for walkers, nature lovers, gastro, cocktail and culture vultures. Hotel staff were really helpful and provide transfers from the Sarfa bus station free of charge. For 42 Euro return, you can get from Barcelona in under 3 hours.
We were delighted as it was stunningly a romantic getaway from very British resorts and tends to attract French/Spanish clientele. Quite honestly, we'd go back there in a shot! However, if you're looking for discos, British pubs, fish and chips and huge concrete monstrosities, you may want to look somewhere else!
“ Top Tip: Walk to the lighthouse from Rocamar and climb down the mountainside to Cala Nans for a swim. Check out Rozazur bar on the harbour for great mojitos, L'Estrella tapas bar and La Sirena restaurant for wonderful fish and music. The Cadaques Museum currently has a great photographic exhibition of the village from the late 19th. Make the most of the wide range of art galleries and boutiques. Havana Club and L'Hostal have live music.

Our room was adequate - although only smelt fresh when the windows were open.
On the third day, I discovered an unpleasant parasite upon my person!
More positively, this is a beautiful hotel with a large terrace which looks out over the pines to the sea.
Breakfast offers plenty of choice, and the restaurant (with a fabulous view) serves good quality food.
We enjoyed the indoor pool (in May).
“
Top Tip:
There are fabulous walks - to the lighthouse, and up into the hills from the hotel.
The walk into town is about 15 minutes. Or you can drive through the narrow streets if you prefer!
