The Santa Monica has recently been refurbished and is ideally located in superb Calella, just 55 km from Barcelona and 50 km from Girona airport

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when I left my car keys in the safe and then flew home to Liverpool!!! They immediately located them and posted them to me and they arrived 2 days later.
The hotel itself was clean, tidy and well run. There were however 2 downsides. 1. The walls were extremely thin so that you could hear conversations next door and when they put the TV on it was like they were in our room with us.
2. Unfortunately, not that I am at all ageist, when we were there - no fault of the hotel at all - it was a week when the Spanish elderly population descended. Resulting in one very noisy and disturbed week's holiday!
All that said we had a very pleasant stay indeed and would return.
“ Top Tip: Don't go in the elderly people holiday weeks if you can avoid it! unless you are elderly too of course. All entertainment etc was geared around this age group.

“ Usually try to book 4* Hotels, but we were offered a good deal on the Santa Monica, so decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised how good it actually was. Staff were very pleasant during our stay and we really enjoyed the choice of food we had on the All-Inclusive programme. Would certainly go back again, if a similar deal was available in the future.

There where one or two of people moaning about a couple of items, well if they wanted 5 star they should have paid 5 star money was my reply to them, this hotel is absolutely perfect and excellent value for money, the food was excellent most nights and there was only one night where I would say it was good, but don't forget it was still good.
When I go back to this area I will most definitely be using this hotel again, the staff are perfect, the cleanliness is perfect and the rooms where also very good, the air conditioning in the rooms was very welcome indeed
“ Top Tip: There was a wine bar called Grouchos, very good value for money and very friendly, at first we thought it may be a tad expensive but decided to give it a go, the price was very good and the bar is great, the manger was also very accommodating, 2euros for a tapas and a red wine, the done was delicious and the tapas very good value for money
