“ had a 4 day break on my own in early october. bit concerned when i realised it was basically geared 90% towards children(ie. entertainment, facilities etc)some reviews almost labelled it a posh butlins, with kids very much in abundance!
neednt have worried off season as children were in the minority, apart from pre-school little ones and a few older ones, who really should have been in school.
love children, but dont like to be over-run with them when i go away for a peaceful break!mainly french and german older couples at hotel,i was possibly the only brit. as i never heard a british voice in all my stay, which was a bit of a shame,but i chatted to variuos british people i came across on my travels around the area!
this hotel is absolutely lovely!immaculately clean in all areas, and has abundant and excellent facilities.i found the food very good, and i did not struggle for choice even though i am vegetarian.might be a bit bland for some though- brilliant for the price paid for the holiday i must say.
bit stunned and taken back by the size of the complex when i arrived, but the staff were very welcoming and helpful.
e-mailed the hotel before i left home to request a high room, quiet with balcony and sea view, and they gave me 826- wonderfull, wonderfull!
double bed to myself,quiet, spotless, tv, with 3 english channels(bbc1 itv and bbc world news)so i didnt feel quite so abandened by the english language!!
the view from the balcony was fantastic, with sea to the left and mountains to the right.
the hotel is a ten minute walk to pineda, one way and 15 mins to calella the other, but is a lovely walk along the beach path.
weather fantastic 26- 34degrees
excellent transfer with atob transfers through travel republic- was walking into hotel an hour after stepping off plane- unheard off- thank you mr bean! you know who you are..

“ Top Tip: dining room is very hectic,peak season could be a nightmare.
suma shop, just outside hotel very handy for extras as hotel can be expensive for water, cans etc.
use the train to get around and site see, cheap and easy
take a travel kettle

“ first stayed in hotel 1964 for our honeymoon. It was a wonderful hotel then and is even better now. Food was great with a good variety of food and great service. We enjoyed the entertainment, especially the piano bar. There was no need to leave the hotel at all as everything we needed was there. We hope to return again next year and for our 50th anniversary 2014

“ This hotel was a lovely clean hotel which does exactly what it's description says. However we went with no children and our older parents who do not drink at all. They do like to go out after tea for a walk but the location of the hotel means that it is quite a walk to get anywhere. The train service is very good but the trains finish in one direction at 10pm which is too early and taxis seem to be very few. The hotel is ideal if you are prepared to stay there all the time and not want to go out. This season was the first time all inclusive and they need to get that sorted. I e. It finishes too early at 11pm, only 1 drink per person is allowed and this was a bit of a pain as we went in a group of 6 and we all had to get up to go to the pool bar each time we wanted a drink. As well as wearing a wristband you also have to sign a receipt for your drink and put on your room numbere which I think is a security risk.
