Merce Hotel

“ Wow. We loved this hotel. It was clean amd welcoming, reception and waiting staff were excellent. The food was fairly good and we will definately go again.

“ The hotel was great, I couldn't fault anything except probably lacking some vegetable for breakfast.

Hotel is literally 1 minute from the high street, next to the church which bells every 15 minutes. Prior going I though that would be annoying, but not at all. We couldn't really hear it from our room on the third floor, only when we are on the roof, by the pool and at least we had clue about the time :-)

Staff were extraordinary nice, smiley, friendly, very helpful. Anything we asked they answered without the problems, our requests were met with smiley faces and nice friendly. talk.

Rooms were simply, but what else do you need when you go on holiday by the beach or pool? We only slept there, spent a minimum time in bedrooms. Bedrooms were cleaned daily and towels changed daily too!

Good range of food for breakfast, even better choice of food, desserts and ice creams for dinner. As mentioned previously only thing I was missing was having choice of vegetable, I don't think there was some for breakfast, so I mainly east scramble eggs, croissants, typical English breakfast - which I actually don't like, but staff can't be faulted. It's usually English people who complain about range of English food, so staff provides the services. It's a little bit sad, because when you go on holiday somewhere, you should try their 'home' kitchen and not end up eating sausages with beans and toast!!! It's definitely not a typical Spanish cousin!

“ Top Tip: It was very quiet there (but we weren't there during the high peak), not many people on the streets, restaurants, hence very good for people who want just relax and unwind.

If you can, walk along the beach to Santa Susanna (20 minutes) and Malgrat de Mar (another 20 minutes), it's a nice walk and once you reach each destination, there are little markets and restaurants on the 'door step'.

There isn't much of a night life in Pineda de Mar, few restaurants were open with 'live' shows, it would be better to take a taxi to Lloret de Mar, if you want to experience bars and clubs.

“ I was in this Hotel 3rd/10th May 2012. Single room, very nice, en suite, and big enough for two. Staff Excellent, helpful and genuinely friendly. Food, good and plenty of it. Penida de Mar, small town, friendly place, no problems going about on my own (over 65 ) all day and evenings,,and you do get used to the church bell ringing, it,s as good as a watch..

“ Where do I begin? I booked this hotel as a stop gap for one night what a treasure, we arrived for check in early, no problem reception staff fantastic, helpful, smiling and could not do enough for us. Having been to Barcelona a few times we always stay a little way out of the city. This hotel was such a gem we were very sad we were only there for a short stay. The staff let us stay in our room until 12am the following morning and then looked after our luggage until it was time for us to leave. How they can say this is only a two star hotel I do not know I have stayed in some three star that were not up this standard. We decided to eat in the hotel and had a wonderful meal for ten euros. The wine list was not expensive and a good choice. I cannot praise the staff enough, they gave us lots of information on what was on and places of interest. We had a marvelous time. Can't wait to go back.
