Xaloc Hotel

“ Hotel Xaloc is in an ideal situation if you are looking for a quiet holiday near the beach which is just a stones throw away. If you turn left and go around the rocks there is an even quieter cove if on weekends the beach is busy. The staff at the hotel are very helpful, from reception down to the cleaners, they do their best to understand you even though British is not the usual language spoken. The hotel pool and patio area are cleaned daily and also the rooms. We were the only British staying here which was not a problem for us but we found the meals were not to our taste. It would have been nice to have had more choice of English food, we ate out quite a lot even though we went half board, and at least 1 tv channel in English apart from CNN news, even if it was a music channel.

“ Top Tip: The town is about 10min walk away and there are some really nice restaurants and bars where the staff do their best to help and translate the menus for you. Tabol does a very good kebab and chicken, Da Giovanni does nice pizzas and lasagne but our favourite bar was B & Ms which does a variety of snacks and sandwiches. Cynthia & Raymond are multilingual and speak very good English, they are the nicest most helpful people we found there. They sell Heineken, Carlsberg, Cider, but most important of all, they make a lovely cup of British tea, which believe me is very hard to find. If you like sport go to the Cactus bar, they have 4 tvs and list the sports programmes they will be showing, they also sell Strongbow.
The season winds down after August so we were too late for any boat trips or waterparks and the busses do not run so regularly which was a shame. There is a huge market on Fridays though and the shops have sales so you can pick up some bargains. Overall we had a great holiday and will be returning next year but earlier in the season

“ Top Tip: The coastal path either way from the hotel was a lovely walk.

“ I think this is about our fifth time at the Xaloc, and we still find it a really nice place to stay. It is almost on the nicest part of Platja's beach, with a very pleasent cove to the left and the attractive main beach to the right.
The food in the hotel is good and varied. And the staff are very friendly.
There is a pleasent terrace overlooking the beach to have a drink and a chat.
The centre of town is a ten minute walk away, so the hotel is also nice and quiet.
It is also very easy to park nearby if you are using a car.

“ Top Tip: The cove nearby is very safe for children.

“ AFTER BOOKING THE HOTEL ON THE NET. WAS SLIGHTLY APPREHENSIVE ABOUT IT,
BUT WAS VERY PLEASED ON ARRIVAL.PERFECT LOCATION ON THE BEACH AT THE END OF A BAY. 10min WALK TO MAIN RESORT AND RESTAURANTS. VERY NICE WALKS AROUND THE ROCKS AND HEADLAND LEFT AND RIGHT OF THE BEACH. SECLUDED LITTLE BAYS etc. HAD HIRED A CAR BUT NOT REALY NECESSARY JUST NEED TRANSPORT FROM & TO AIRPORT ABOUT 30min AWAY. ONLY FAULT FOUND WAS THE HOTEL CAR PARK CHARGE AT 10 euro A DAY FOR A PIECE OF WASTE LAND A BIT STEEP. ONLY PAID ONCE FOUND SPACES NEARBY TO PARK. ALL IN ALL A VERY GOOD HOLIDAY WAS HAD BY MY WIFE AND I. WILL RETURN.
