We've stayed at this hotel several times and have always found it good value for money. The staff are friendly and very efficient, the rooms are clean, the breakfasts include about anything you could want, and the buffet dinners are excellent value for money. The situation of the hotel is great - on the beach, close to other restaurants and hotels - which have entertainment in the evenings. It's about 20 minutes walk from the main part of Roses - but that means it's not so busy which is what we like.

Top Tip: Empuriabrava with its network of canals and thousands of boats is worth a visit. Cadaques is a very picturesque town, and not to be missed is the Dali museum in Figueres.

The hotel is clean, the rooms and bathrooms spacious, and the staff friendly. The food is good value for money, and the entertainment is very good. The hotel balconies overlook the sea, and although there are several restaurants close by, the walk to Roses centre takes about 20 minutes.

Top Tip: Don't miss the Dali museum in Figueres

More 2 star than 3. Balcony not safe for toddlers. Speak french or spanish or you will find staff cannot help you. No information provided about services of hotel. Food better than most buffets, probably find something to suit all. Covered pool freezing. Not even children used it in September. No air con so balcony door must be left open at night and no nets to prevent mozzies in season. One side of hotel noise of cooking machinery, other side late night noise from bars and garbage collection and some nights the smell from the bins was awful - we were on 5th floor. Room had no fridge although it had a cupboard designed for it which was empty and of no use for patrons. Upgrade full sea view and fridge costs E154 pw in low season. TV was v. old small portable only CNN. Badly updated bathroom, tight fit for one, we kept bruising ourselves on sink and door handles. Compared to other parts of Spain hotel dated and expensive.

Top Tip: Hotel is on promenade of beach which is lovely. France is very nearby so you could get train from London and Paris. Lots of local birdwatching but better in Spring than Autumn as all watercourses dried out. Local food good (but not if you like fast food). Sta Margarita is pleasant area, Rosas town not that nice. Old Figueres is lovely and has a Dali museum.

Pleased with hotel & service received - main complaint is that there are only two very small lifts. When it was busy difficult to get up to our floor which was on the highest level (the sixth floor) as there were huge queues after a large group had arrived!

In the event that you have a less than physically able person (who is not in a wheelchair) each level has 2 lots of stairs so that made 12 flights to get to the sixth floor, this should be taken into consideration with older clients.

One last point, there is little on the street parking so would not use the hotel again during the peak summer period.

Top Tip: In the same road, located just behind the hotel, is a tapas bar which is very good. Great food at a very reasonable price, good atmosphere & excellent service from staff.
