The hotel was built in 1982 and completely renovated in 2004. It offers a total of 107 apartments spread over 5 floors. The facilities include a spacious lobby with a lift, a 24-hour reception, a safe, a currency exchange desk, a games room, Internet access and a TV room. In addition, it has a cosy cafe, bar and an air-conditioned restaurant with highchairs for younger guests.
Medical assistance is also on offer for should it be necessary. The hotel offers younger guests a playground and kids' club.This welcoming hotel is located at the heart of Tossa de Mar, only a 10 minutes walk from the beach. Scores of shops, bars, restaurants and nightclubs are within easy reach, 200 to 400 metres away. Links to the public transport network lie 300 m away.All the apartments are tastefully furnished and include an en suite bathroom.
Moreover, they are fitted with a food preparation area, a fridge, satellite/ cable TV, tiling and a safe. Hotel personnel clean the rooms following guests' departure.The hotel offers its guests a pool, sun loungers and parasols, a solarium, snooker/pool and offers an attractive evening entertainment program consisting of live music, cabaret, magic and acrobatic shows. Parasols are available to guests on the beach.

“ hotel was lovely i was half board but anyone wishing to self cater everything is there. the only thing i was slighty disappointed about there was not a lot of choice in food. however i was only there 4 days. would i use this hotel again. yes i would.

“ Top Tip: Retaurant Minerva near the Minerva Statue, excellent food set menu 11.50 Euros includes 3 courses plus bread and we got a bottle of house wine between the two of us.

Moved to the Esmeraldas after our original choice closed,and it proved to be a far better option as it was closer to the main amenities.
Polite,helpful staff(most spoke some English);reasonable sized studio although could've done with some modernisation in decor and furnishings(noisy fridge led to several disturbed nights sleep!)
Fairly well equiped kitchen area with a microwave in a cupboard. Beware of the sharp bread knife though and only use when sober as it's lethal!
Clean towels given and bins emptied on alternate days but no change of linen at all during the week.
No handrails or bathmat in bath for those with mobility problems(myself!),but got the latter on request at reception.
Pool smallish in size with the only steps into it at the deep end!!
As this hotel is used as a Thomson Holiday hotel,it was very busy with many large and young families and so was fairly noisy until late at night.Entertainment was provided by them every day but it was difficult to find a quiet corner to relax and chill.
All in all would be worth a return visit but would make sure it's not during the school holidays in future.
“ Top Tip: Found that the local tourist train goes along the top of the road leading down to the Esmeraldas and stops outside the neighbouring hotel(Oasis Tossa);which is great after a long day shopping or at the beach with kids-saves a walk back!However train stops just before 10pm so check times before boarding!
