The hotel is a former palace of the late nineteenth century, which was renovated while still maintaining the classic style of the hotel. The Hotel, designed by Anibal Gonzalez, recognized and celebrated architect of the time. It has two cafeterias, one for winter and in summer opens another in the central courtyard.

Tons of references to the "Old World" in its many pictures and objects (theme of Christopher Columbus' vogayes - he is said to have been in this city to refurbish his boats before setting off on one of his expeditions).

Renovated in 2008, the air-conditioned hotel comprises a total of 80 rooms spread over 10 floors. Guests are welcomed in a spacious lobby with lifts. Facilities on offer include a Central Station coffee bar/pub with an old time train station theme, and the restaurant La Cantina with its highly original wine cellar style and a range of meeting rooms for conferences or banquets. Two amenities are also offered, including room and laundry services. The top floor houses the pub with the best panoramic views of Sanlucar, Doeana and the Guadalquivir River mouth.
