“ We thought the hotel was good value for money and the room (a standard double) had everything we needed for self-catering. We found it was near to the beach, although we were very glad to have hired a car. As a young couple we felt the hotel lacked atmosphere in the evenings, but then so did the local area. This was perhaps as we went in Easter, not summer.
“ Top Tip: Hire a car - there are so many amazing places to explore! Beach was lovely when not windy - be prepared and bring something warm.

“ Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on half board basis. Apartment was spotlessly clean and very modern. Food at hotel was excellent. Only complaint was the noise from neighbouring apartments which spoilt our holiday. All the aprtments have ceramic tiled floors and there is constant noise from apartments above/below & each side from people dragging chairs, dining table etc across their ceramic floors which echoes in adjacent apartments and kept us awake and was very annoying.
“ Top Tip: It is a 20 minute walk to La Barossa beach which is lovely. Cadiz is a 40 minute drive away and old town is well worth a visit. Ronda is approximately 1hr 45 minute drive away but again well worth it. You really need a car if you stay at this hotel.

Top Tip:
Cadiz, Conil, Arcos, El Puerto de Santa María and Medina are worth of a visit.
Try the delicious fried fish (boquerones, puntillitas and cazón) in any local restaurant.

“ We really enjoyed our stay at the Tartessus, we flew into Gibraltar and hired a car just over the Spanish border there (about 10 minutes walk). It took at least one and a half hours to drive to Sancti Petri. We booked a 2 bed apartment half board - the apartment did have a small kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, toaster etc. As there were 5 of us one person had to sleep on the bed settee in the lounge area and the hotel were quick to make this bed up for us. The apartments aren't big but perfectly adequate. We didn't meet any other English people the majority being Spanish (any evening entertainment/kids clubs just in Spanish), then German. The food was good. You really needed a car to go to the beaches, although the hotel provided a bus to one part of the beach, and explore the surrounding towns.
“ Top Tip: We found Cadiz a lovely place to go for the day with beaches and quaint cobbled streets lined with cafes and shops. Savilla was 135km but a good day out and our children loved Jerez zoo.
