“ Had a wonderful time - the Thelasso Spa amazing. Bar not always open during day and no entertainment, but it is a very quiet time of year for the Ballena resort, so we expected it. Food excellent and varied. Staff courteous and very helpful.

“ Lovely hotel with superb staff. Excellent facilities especially the spa (at an extra charge). 5 minute walk to the beach. Brilliant choice of food, rooms immaculate – would highly recommend a visit!

“ Not been in a better hotel. Hotel and rooms exceptional. Thalasso spa worth a visit at 22 Euros per day, but if you go out you have to pay again. Food was suberb with two types of fish and two types of meat cooked from raw on the griddle every night, with others available from the buffet. Hotel is 50 metres from a wide sandy beach. Two outdoor swimming pools (large and small) with bar, plus childrens pool and outdoor play area. Indoor creche plus games room with air hockey, table tennis. two pool tables etc.,. Indoor Bar and entertainment area. No animination (organised daytime activities) this time of year. Entertainment only Friday and Sat nights, other hotels Costa Ballena area similar. Local buses cheap 0.80 Euro to Rota 9 kilometres. Costa Ballena is quiet this time of year little is open. Hotel full of Spanish people at the weekend having a break. Not many English or other nationalities in the hotel.

Top Tip:
Rota, Seville, Cadiz and Jerez are all worth a visit.
Seville is one of the most beautiful cities I have seen, park at the end of Avenida de las Delicias (car park is DOWN THE RAMP it was around 7 Euros for 3 hours) and walk through the gardens to Jardines Alcazar, the Cathedral and old town. You will need a least a day to see these, and there is more to see, so its probably worth a long weekend on its own

hotel was in good position ,good clean qualityrooms with great views over pool and golfcourse.
Costa Balena was areal find,totally different fron the usual costas
