A big clean quiet apart hotel resort (during off season stay) with mainly locals around on SPA/Rehabilitation holidays. Inland location with no entertainment near by makes it less promising for someone who wants to wine & dine without having to travel far. An ideal resort if you don't mind travelling & for sight seeing but not if you want to stay near a tourist attraction/beach.
Customer service could be better and a welcome package & new batteries for remote controls & more international channels would be a good addition!
“ Top Tip: Nice Chinese restaurant 'Perla Oriental' & a Lebanese restaurant 'Beirut' both in Alhaurin de La Taure with a 5-10 min. drive has good food, price, reviews & service.

The Sol Andalusi Hotel sets itself up as a quiet luxury retreat. It's quite a long way from the coast and outside the villages of Alhaurin de la Torre and el Grande and so is indeed very quiet. As far as luxury is concerned, it certainly was as from new though it has been 'let go' a little in certain areas. I guess that hey simply aren't getting in enough money to reinvest to keep the property to its best.
Our 1-bedroom apartment was practically faultless. Excellent size, fantastic kitchen (better than many people would have at home, complete with everything down to dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, granite surfaces, etc), fantastic bathroom, lovely living room with LCD TV mounted on wall, huge balcony, good bedroom. All very clean. The only snag was the fact that the hotel have disconnected the air-conditioning from the apartments. The consequence was a very sleepless night with the choice of being eaten alive by mosquitos or beeing cooked alive in a boiling hot bedroom.
The hotel has some nice facilities such as the lovely outdoor pools, the semi-olympic indoor pool and jacuzzi, also the spa and wellness centre, gymnasium. The food was decent in the buffet restaurant. Just a feeling though of things being let go - dirty walls in need of repainting, cracked windows along the corridors, furniture in need of being replaced.
Was excellent value for money as we got an excellent deal at high season through travelrepublic.co.uk so would recommend on that basis. Good for a quiet break. Indeed some of the blocks of apartments have been sold to private buyers as retirement dwellings coupled with the use of the facilities on-site. Not for anybody wanting action at all as there is little going on there and it is well out of the way.

Hotel really nice if you want to getaway from it all. Restaurant and bar cheap however dont be in a hurry as they are often short staffed. The 2 bedroomed apartment was clean and had excellent facilities including a washing machine and dishwasher if you want to be self sufficient. Pool was clean and safe. However there is nothing within walking distance so you will need a car if you like to get out and about. THe town is about 2 miles but not on a road safe enough to walk, use taxis as they are readily available.Chinese reasturant in town very nice and they deliver
Golf at Lauro golf was very good according to my son( handicap of 7) and the food is quite nice here especially the breakfasts. Taxi from airport 35-40 euros but ita only about 8 miles
