“ Our stay was early March 2012. It was very quiet at this time and ideal for a very relaxing break. The hotel is old Spanish in style with lots of character and the rooms are the most spacious we have stayed in and furnished very tastefully and with a king size bed... a flat screen TV..mini bar..hairdryer..iron and ironing board everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are two lovely pools with nice sunloungers although too cold for us to try at this time of year. There is a really nice courtyard to sit in and relax with a nice view of the mountains and the whitewashed houses of the village of Benahavis which is just a short stroll away...althoughit it is uphill...still well worth a visit. The restaurant provided waiter service at dinner and the food was of a good standard as was the service of our waiter and waitress Carmen and Sebastian. Breakfast was self service buffet style with everything you could want from a cooked bacon, egg, blackpudding, beans, tomato and mushroom breakfast..to fruits, cakes, pastries, cereal etc.....only complaint here was the food did not keep hot...so we used the grills for toasting to heat up the bacon etc!...We would definetly recommend this Hotel for a quiet holiday and will return again later this year. For us the quiet relaxing atmosphere was perfect but we understand not for everyone although we are told tht in the summer season it takes on another feel so may be a little livelier. If the beach is for you Marbella is only a short drive away as is Feungerola, Benalmadena etc obviously because of the location a car is a must. A well enjoyed changre from the normal Costas Hotels cant wait to return.

“
Stayed overnight on a cold but beautifully sunny February day. Hotel was virtually empty . Didn't need any of the usual summer type facilities which (of course) were not available (pool etc). The place was sort of ticking over for the winter months with chairs stacked up etc . This was NOT a problem because this is understandable and expected,
Room was O.K. (nothing special) TV had a couple of English speaking channels.
Bathroom O.K. but uninspiring.
Breakfast satisfactory .
For us (old people) one night was enough --- 'been there done that' .

“ A lovely hotel in great surroundings. The room was the largest we have seen in a hotel so far, very clean and comfortable. The gardens and pools are very pleasant although water was rather cold but that was to be expected at the end of September. The hotel has wonderful views of Benahavis village and surrounding hills. Staff are helpful, the spa had everything you would expect. The village itself is marvellous with so many places to eat that a week was not enough to explore them all - but you need to be very hungry as the portions are enormous! Everywhere is either up or down steep streets and roads but it only adds to the beauty. Altogether it was a wonderful and relaxing place which also gave us plenty of exercise at the same time. We are very pleased we found Benahavis and this hotel.
“ Top Tip: There is a marvellous park just past the roundabout with the little castle - take the first exit to the right and the park is on the left-hand side. Ronda is very worth a visit, it takes about an hour by car going inland. A day trip to Gibraltar is also a good idea.

“ The hotel is beautiful and the rooms luxurious. Aircon was much appreciated. Beds very comfortable. Food pretty ropey but luckily there are 50+ restaurants in the village which is 10 minutes' walk from hotel (quite a steep climb up to these). Whole family looking forward to Spa facility but it has short opening hours and no-one under 16 can go in. Pools nice but a long list of "don't s" meant experience was genteel for us, but boring for boys (aged 19, 17 and 15). Good for couples of all ages, with easy-access rooms on ground floor for those who are physically-challenged. A restful stay.
“
Top Tip:
Try the rock pools along the river which runs alongside the road leading up to Benahavis from the coast.
Great food at fab prices (15 euros for 3-course meal) in small restaurant just off main square (Spanish chef, Belgian wife does front of house).
