“ The hotel was very clean and the staff helpful and pleasant. In the 10 days we stayed there, our apartment was cleaned, beds made, and towels changed at least 5 times. There was a large splendid swimming pool with lots of sun loungers but because of the outdoor temperatures we didn't make use of this facility.8.9 Excellent

I stayed here for 3 nights in Nov '13. The town and the hotel were relatively quiet. I was told it was about 20mins walk from the train station but it took me over 25minutes to travel that distance and I was power walking so I'd say it's really a 30min walk.
It's about 300m from the beach so not far at all. It's situated right next to a large shopping and entertainment centre with a multiplex cinema, a large supermarket (Eroski) and various fast food joints. The hotel is therefore ideally situated for self catering. There is a Chinese buffet restaurant, "Mr Wok", adjacent to the hotel also but I didn't try that as they didn't have decent vegan options.
There is a bus stop and taxi rank less than 1 minute from the hotel front entrance right in front of the shopping/entertainment complex.
I'd stay here again if staying in the town. Taxi cost 6 euro to the train station and a bus costs 1.10 euro to the bus station in town which is about 200 - 300metres from the bus station.
A return ticket on the C1 line to Malaga central station costs 7 euro and it's about 3.60 one way to the airport. Return tickets must be used the same day (I'm not sure if they're valid for a full 24 hours though).
The cable car which goes up to the top of the mountain in Benalmadena is awesome. It's about a mile long and costs about 13 euro per person. The view from the top is fabulous. It does get a bit chilly up there. There is also a falconry display which is just once a day I think around 1pm. I missed that though.

There was a large splendid swimming pool with lots of sun loungers but because of the outdoor temperatures we didn't make use of this facility.
Our particular apartment balcony had a wonderful view of the sea to the east and the imposing nearby 10th. century Sohail Castle to the south.
We hope to revisit Fuengirola and this hotel in particular in the not too distant future.
There was a superb shopping mall which included an Eroski Hypermarket a mere 50 metres away from the front door of the hotel. Almost every food product imaginable was available at reasonable prices.
The nearest beach is a mere 5 minutes walk away. All beaches were very clean. However, since we were there in mid-November, there were very few people using them.

“ Just returned from 10 day stay. The apartments are clean, presentable and functional. They all have twin beds that maybe ok for some and not others. The beds are easily put cross ways and fit between the fixed headboard and lights so no major issues short term if you want to create a double but the unavailability of a fixed double is far from ideal for a couple for more than a night or two unless they are happy in single beds. Oct/Nov is the start of the low season so the majority of facilities are closed in the hotel although you can brave a swim. There is free wifi by way of a pass code given to you by the receptionist if asked, but this is restricted to the reception area only. The apartment has 3 small sofas that can enable children to sleep if accompanied and a small TV. Bedding consists of two made up single beds with sheets and 3 spare blankets. Sheets get changed once a week and towels every 3 days. No problems with hot water and bath/ shower / toilet / sink / bidet are all very functional. Terrace is fine and safe about 1.25m x 3m or so. In winter better to face the castle due to the position of the sun bringing extra warmth onto the terrace and into the apartment. Taxi from train station to hotel is 6 or 7 euros. The Cinema and shopping complex is next door so many restaurants and activities on the doorstep. The beach is only 5 mins walk and the center of Fuengirola is only 30mins walk. There is a Mr Wok next door that provides all sorts of fresh food cooked for you where you can eat as much as you wish for about 12 euros, a reasonable bottle of wine is about 8 euros. The hotel is in a good spot if you want to sleep away from the nightlife but want to easily access it if you want to. Hotel is just off the motorway so can be noisy if you like to sleep with the windows open which is quite likely as they turn the air conditioning off from Oct/Nov - March/ April and the only thing circulating is warm air and it can get quite hot outside too. Lifts were not working properly at all throughout stay with various attempts at sorting them out failing. They do have stairs though but this could have been very frustrating for somebody not able to use the stairs. All in all a reasonable place to stay out of season but with lack of air conditioning and being positioned by the motorway, if you want some air at night to cool down, it is very noisy. Also the lack of a double beds is restrictive and hopefully the dodgy lifts will get repaired by next year.
