 4 Star Hotel

  • The Sultan Club is in a great location in Marbella, close to the beach and near by to bars and restaurants. Puerto Banus is only about 12 euros in a taxi. We did have a leisurely walk there one morning but it was quite a distance so taxi is best really.

The Sultan Club is in a great location in Marbella, close to the beach and near by to bars and restaurants. Puerto Banus is only about 12 euros in a taxi. We did have a leisurely walk there one morning but it was quite a distance so taxi is best really. The apartment we had was spacious. The kitchen area had all amenities but you do need to ask for a kettle from reception. The decor was a little dated but the rooms were very clean and towels were changed every day. The balcony we had was overlooking the road but was spacious. The pool area is quite nice but is rather small and in high season I can imagine it would be pretty crowded. We didn't use the indoor pool or spa facilities so cannot comment on these. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

We were delighted with the hotel! For the price we didn’t expect much but it was truly brilliant. very clean and big and the staff gave us excellent recommendations for fresh seafood restaurants. Would highly recommend. We were way nearer everything then we expected as well as the beach is at one end of the road where the promenade starts and theirs a handy 24hour supermarket at the other end of the road.

This hotel was perfect for our 3 night stay. Our 6 yr old daughter and ourselves stayed in a one bed apartment, which was very clean and very spacious. We enjoyed the change of being in a street location as opposed to a beachfront one. We enjoyed drinks on our large (double patio doors) balcony listening to everything going on below us on the street. We never used the hotel restaurant or bar, we preferred to stroll out and go somewhere. The beach is about 3/4 minutes walk away, turn left when you reach it and you'll soon have plenty of restaurant/bars to choose from. Orange square is about 15 minutes walk away, you can either walk down the main busy street and shop your way there (we never saw any street signs to orange square, we defo had to use our iPhone map to get us there!) or you can walk along the beachfront for a good 10 minutes and that will get you there. Again, for your first visit, it's not the easiest place to find. iPhones will absolutely do the job, or try your luck asking for directions!! Make the effort though, because orange square is a beautiful place.
Back at the hotel, the pool was absolutely freezing!!! (end of May) We managed about 5 minutes of it on our first day and never went near it again! We didn't really mind about it because we were only there for 3 nights and had plenty of other things to do. But maybe if we were there for a week, it would have been very disappointing, no pool bar open neither :(
Overall, if we fancied a short break to Marbella again, we would defo stay there.
