Roc El Pinar Aparthotel

“ We had a 'girlie' 4 days stay at the hotel and found it most suffiecient for our needs. They had given us rooms next to each other which was great. Rooms very clean and visited each day by the maid. Having Balconies were a great bonus as for what we paid we did not think we would have one. The site itself was very clean and had everything you could wish for whilst lazing around the pool. We loved it. The free bus service into the centre was great, alway punctual and a very cosy ride. We had bed and breakfast and were again not disappointed, the choice was very good. One evening we stayed in 'on our balconies' and ordered a pizza, where the hotel reception staff were helpful in giving us telephone numbers and assistance in getting the food to our rooms. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate in going back again.

“ Top Tip: We found a beautiful chinese restaurant which served great food. This was located at the bottom of the road then turn left. The restaurant was lovely and staff great. There is a small precinct with various restaurants and ice cream bar where all the people were very friendly, one cafe offers WFI facilities which I used.

“ Not in the centre, nice quite location but easy accessible via free hotel bus or local bus for €1.60pp.... Rooms very spacious clean and tidy, food was okay wide variety everyday..... Overall great holiday.

“ This was our second stay at "El Pinar" because we liked the quiet location out of the main town and the deal we got was very reasonably priced. For those who haven't stayed here before, this is definitely not a 4 star hotel, not in anybody's universe. It may have been once when the hotel opened 30 to 40 years ago, but certainly isn't now. It's a fairly solid 3 star hotel, the rooms are large and clean and it has been fairly well maintained over the years. However, it is starting to show it's age a bit in terms of the facilities provided and somewhat ageing building.

We went for half board for our weeks stay and the food was as good as the first time we stayed there. The demographics of the clientelle has changed since our first visit with a predominence of middle aged and elderly Spanish staying this time. The range and quality of the meals were as good as any hotel buffet we've encountered in over 20 years of visiting Spain. However, some of the menu choices may not suit Brits with a more conservative pallette.

On the down side, this time there was a larger proportion of groups of young males and females, mainly on hen and stag weekends. They were no doubt attracted by the very good value for money this hotel represents, especially for the all-inclusive deal. Things did get a bit loud around the pool by the end of the afternoon, the combinaion of too much sun and freely flowly alcoholic beverages. Also, remember that the pool facilities for the complex are small in relation to the size of the hotel so families with small children are going to be hard pressed to keep them entertained throughout the day if they decide to stay on-site.
Lastly, the hotel is situated a good 20 minute's walk from the centre of Torremolinos and the beach. However, a free bus shuttle sevice to the town and beach is provided during the morning, late afternoon and early evening.

So in summary, this hotel reperesents very good value for money especially at the beginning of the season (early to mid May). Just don't expect the bells and whistles you may have come to expect from other 4 star hotels. It's a solid, somewhat basic hotel with good food. It gives you a cheap and cheerfull week in the sun for a competitive price for many of us cash strapped travellers these days.

“ Clean enough and food was what is to be expected at an all inclusive low budget holiday. Staff were friendly and the enterainments manager Charly was lovely. Pool area was very nice and the gardens were well maintained. I would recommend this hotel and definately go there again.

“ Top Tip: Benemadena 24 hour square was a good night out and only 15 euros in taxi
