Las Palomas Hotel

“ The 'no balcony' bargain rooms are a risk but if you only plan on sleeping there they are a good bet. Some have TV and fridge, others don't. They also vary in size. We have taken these rooms on 3 occasions and been lucky and unlucky but even then I don't mind because then can be very cheap. We find the food very good with lots of choice. The restaurant can get very busy and noisy. Often a coach tour will use this hotel as an overnight stop so it can be busy one day and not the next. Pool is invariably very cold but I did manage to get in once! The door/card readers appear to have improved now so either they've done maintenance or had new cards. We'll use it again.

“ This was the third year we have stayed at this hotel for 21 days at a time. We
requested room 729 but as your booking was a promo we had to take a room
on second floor but hotel moved us after 7 days to 729. Hotel is in a grand position
in that within 5mins you are on the beach and in 20mins at the centre of the town

“ I stayed at the hotel for a week. I booked only B&B and had a room with no balcony, which was as stated on previous reviews that the room would then be near the road. You do hear traffic but to be honest it's not as though it is a busy main road so just the occasional cars late evening early morning and I was woken up only once by a dustbin lorry collecting the hotel waste. The room itself was clean and when I asked for the air conditioning to be fixed it was done on the same day. If you decide you want to upgrade to a balcony room when you arrive (which is on the pool side of the hotel) this will only cost you an extra 10 Euros per night stay.

The breakfast offered a lot of choice from fruit to rolls and pastries with cold meats and cheese to a hot breakfast if you wished. It was an "eat as much as you want" so you certainly achieved your monies worth.

The hotel pool is nice and clean and I had no problems with going down to the pool late morning and getting a sun bed (which are free - some hotels charge).

The majority of those staying at the hotel are Spanish, which I take as a good sign when on holiday in Spain. The staff were very helpful and polite and certainly patient whilst I tried out my Spanish on them that I've been learning for the last year or so.

Certainly a very pleasant stay all in all and as I visit my friends who live there on a yearly basis I will certainly be looking to book this hotel again.

“ Top Tip: Down the hill and take your first right, there are some nice bars there. One in particular (The Mad Monk) do some nice snacks and have a pool table, all at very reasonable prices.
