“ Big hotel not in centre of Almunecar so need car to get to town and restaurants. Outdoor pools freezing in April and the rapids were closed for maintenance. Indoor pool was a bonus. Clean rooms but hard beds! Food was buffet style but some freshly prepared items made this more palatable. Good pealla served at lunchtime but not evening.

The hotel is situated i a scenic area and is not enclosed by other buildings. There is room to breathe.
It has friendly and helpful staff; the rooms are comfortable and clean with excellent sea views from the balcony. The swimming facilities are also good.
The hotel is very child friedly but also suitable for older people, although the steep walk to the beach could be challenging for some.
It is in a quiet part of Almunecar which is fine but guests should not expect to be near a night club area.
The food is only average: there was a lot of choice but the quality was mostly average ("canteen food"): it was not as good as some buffet food I have experienced in similar Spanish hotels. The staff were very busy and hard-pressed to cope with everything and I guess this had an effect on the quality of what they produced.
“ Top Tip: Beach restaurant down the hill from the hotel (West side) serves excellent fish dishes.

“ Hotel clean and spacious, swimming facililities excellent (apart from needing cleaning). Disappointed with food and entertainment in evening, food repetitive, entertainment below average for a 4* hotel (had much better in other 4* hotels). Staff not very friendly. Holidaymakers there were mainly spanish and german, we were the only english there.
“ Top Tip: Nothing around the hotel, steep walk to beach. Hire care was necessary to go anywhere other than hotel.

Just the most godawful hotel you could ever imagine. Huge, industrial tourism at its worst.
Room not ready.
Food terrible. Hard to find a single positive thing to say about it. Industrial scale catering with dishes clearly sitting around for lengthy periods to achieve the appropriate level of congealed gloppiness. Fish cooked for what looked like hours. Paella with nothing in it but rice and some yellow food dye.
Poolsides groaning under the weight of lobsterish punters sitting inches from each other.
Inadequate lifts - lengthy weights to get anywhere if you needed them because of pram or wheelchair.
Not enough staff on reception - lengthy delays to check in or out.
Cots broken and only grudgingly changed.
Insane lighting system in the underground car park - enter the car park from the stair well, door shuts, and lights go off, leaving you to navigate in the pitch dark to the nearest light switch - if you can find it.
Loads of expensive extra costs. Allegedly only the "premium" beers are extra - but I was charged for all drinks (yes, thats even water) at very high rates - eg 3.40 euros for maybe 2/3 pint of cheap lager.
Graffiti on numerous boundary walls.
Noisy until very late - hard to sleep.
“ Top Tip: No. The area is hugely overdeveloped. The local infrastructure is clearly struggling to cope with the huge mass of tourism it supports. Just avoid this area.
