Frontera Apartments

“ The main problem we had was in finding these apartments - the position on the on-line map is completely wrong (over a mile away), the address is non-specific, the on-line photograph has been taken in a high-walled garden (so not recognised even by locals) and the telephone is your only hope. Unfortunately you will need very fluent Spanish to understand the directions on it! In fact the apartments are on the main street by a chinese restaurant with an address of 17, Calle Tigaday (I think) and 'Apartamentos Frontera' written on the wall. The apartments are in fair condition - we were upgraded to one of the larger 4-bed apartments in the main building so these remarks apply to these. The renovation in 2006 missed a few things but the rooms are adequate and clean and we would go there again. There is plenty of space - two bedrooms and a good sized living area. There is tiled floor and walls in the kitchenette and bathroom. The kitchette has a gas hob, fridge and sink and basic utensals but is otherwise limited (no oven/microwave/kettle/toaster). The bathroom has a toilet, sink and shower. The bedrooms were quiet - no noise from the main street bars. The balcony has a view over the sea and also up to the amazing 4000 foot cliff that dominates the island. Best of all for self-catering is that there are two supermarkets close by - one of them (a Spar) is superb. There is a bus stop near by and the Frontera bus-terminal is 15 minutes walk away.

“ Top Tip: As mentioned in the comments, there are two supermarkets close by, one of them excellent. Also a bus-stop nearby and bus terminal within easy walking distance. The situation is a good one for walkers.
