Elba Sara Hotel and Golf Resort

“ Hotel lovely and food OK but not a huge selection. Very difficult to get served in any of the bars as no bar staff and even when they were behind the bar they were reluctant to serve. Although overlooking the ocean the beach isn't a viable option. Overall lovely holiday and our room was extremely comfortable and spacious.

“ On arrival hotel looks lovely, however when we got to reception we were told that the hotel was double booked and we had to go to the sister hotel next door for 1 night (Elba Carlota) which we were not to happy about because this meant 2 days of our 7 day holiday were effected. But we went it was fine. We then went back to the Elba Sara and the rest of our holiday was lovely. The hotel was clean and spacious. Room cleaned every day. Food was fine a bit repetative but definately edible. Would recommend and we would go back.

“ Hotel was nice and clean, staff very friendly and helpful.

“ This was our second visit to the Elba Sara in 4 months. We arrived at Noon and immediately were allocated a room on the ground floor with patio doors that opened out to the pool side area.
We are a fan of the hotel and their excellent staff. Last time with the assistance of William the Reception Manager we were able to change our room so that our balcony was bathed in sun during the day. All rooms have sea views but some get a side view. I note that they offer to all the opportunity to change your room dependant on availability. This time we were fortunate to be subsequently offered an upgrade with its own terrace, and for that we were most grateful, although the allocated room was entirely acceptable.
The Hotel has 266 bedrooms so the Albatros Restaurant is always busy even given Breakfast from 0800/1030, Lunch 1300/1500, and Dinner 1830/2200 but we have never found a difficulty in finding a table. Its buffet service, and they have a wide variety of international cuisine. Lots to use, large salad bar, soups, theme nights, grills, carvery, pasta, pizza, burgers, and all manner of desserts, fruit and ice cream .Indeed although all inclusive we only managed two meals a day, and alternated between missing either breakfast or lunch. The Tucan Pool Bar offers snacks. In the Restaurant and Tucan there are self service facilities for alcoholic and soft drinks, or alternatively you can be served by staff. In the Bar Hall you have the option of being served at the Bar by the legendary Moonsha or served at your table by the diminutive and always smiling Kinga.
The Hotel did not appear so busy in May but there are still those out with their towels on the sunbeds at 0700 even though the hotel tries to discourage. There is never any need here as there were swathes of unused sunbeds. Three pools, one for children one slightly heated and one not but with temperatures approaching 36*C not a problem.
The entertainment team worked tirelessly providing a large variety of sporting and child friendly games.
The Hotel booked a Grand Tour of Lanzarote Excursion for us at 70 euros each but it was 14 hours and absolutely stunning particularly Timafaya, but unfortunately also 40*C.
The hotel is kept scrupulously clean by the hard working cleaning staff, and there appears to be an army of unsung heroes working behind the scenes to keep everything operating efficiently.
We examined many sites prior to booking and found some comments off putting, but are glad we persevered. I am sure we could have found some minor problems but life's too short, and we had a ball.

“ Top Tip: Close the windows and doors at night the air conditioning was excellent but doesn't work if door open.
