“ This was a great resort and one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in. The food was excellent although repetitive at times but always fresh and plenty of everything. The staff in the dining room and the bar were great, very pleasant and helpful. We would recommend this hotel without a doubt. It is a bit away from the beach but if you don't mind a walk its fine.
“ Top Tip: We always left the hotel by the back entrance as it was a shorter walk to the beach. Alternatively leave by the front door and turn right. You just follow the path and turn left cross the road and then follow that path right into the town. There is a great shopping centre along this route. When you are in the town ask where Talk of the Town is because they do the best Fish and Chips ever.

“ Went in january weather was quite good in day time, cold at night ,nowhere to go on an evening only sit out side in cold or go back to your room . Was a room in back area but very shabby would not want to sit there at all with no music or entertainment, some entertainment outside at 8.30 for children only, we came to the conclusion that this was done to save on serving drinks as there wasnt many people about at night.Had to go to caralleco to have a night out.

“ Rooms were spotless and mopped 3 times in 7 days. Food was very good and a good choice each meal time. Full buffet breakfast and yes, the bacon was streaky, but thats to be expected in Spain. Different theme each night, Italian, Chinese etc. The paella on Spanish night was particularly good.Entertainment more geared to children but was still enjoyable. Staff worked really hard and were really good. Outside areas also spotless, had a sandstorm one day, covered everything in sand but it was cleared next day. About 10 minute walk to pub where football can be watched and about 20 minutes to main strip for night life but not a big problem.
“ Top Tip: Lovely beach front bar at Pura Vida apartments. Has English pub on front with sports on tv. Out of back of hotel, turn right then left at end of road. Cross main road and take road just to the right, by the part built shopping complex. At end of this road turn left and pub is just after phone box on right. Takes about 7 minutes to walk but newly refurbished, belongs to apartments but recently open to public. Very nice to relax by beach.

“
Had a lovely holiday and considering the hotel was only 2 star, it was pretty good and I have high standards.
The location of the hotel wasn't the best, on a main (but quiet road) into Corralejo but a 5 min walk to a new shopping arcade and cafes etc and a further 5-10 min into the main resort of Corralejo.
The layout was excellent with most rooms overlooking one of the 2 huge main pool areas, and others overlooking a smaller pool and courtyard. There were plenty of sun loungers with mattresses and parasols. Main bar area was situated between both main pools, served a wide variety of drinks (only ever in plastic cups though) and queues were short at all times even though the hotel was full throughout our say.
Rooms were generally pretty good but the rooms we were initially given were both very damp with part of the walls inside and out falling off and a dreadful damp spell. When we asked to move, and lots of people were going home the day we asked, we were told we couldn't move into any of those rooms as they were used for a different company, so it appears that certain companies have better rooms so beware. I think the lower the room the more damp they were but no other rooms looked as bad as ours. They did eventually move us to 'the green house' which I think was an apartment complex the hotel brought and the rooms here were excellent. All rooms in the complex were spacious and had been recently decorated with brand new bathrooms etc.
The dining room excellent in some aspects but poor in others. The food, for a 2* hotel was very good, and in fact better than lots of 4* hotels I have stayed in. Always lots of fresh fruits and salads, meats, stews (the general buffet food) but also each night the hotel had a different theme and a choice of meals from that country. Also each meal time someone cooked a choice of fresh pasta and sauces, made to order in front of you, made fresh speciality meals, hand carved meats and a barbeque on a sat lunchtime. Helped yourself to drinks which was great. The downside of the restaurant really was due to the lack of staff. The few available worked so hard but couldn't keep up and you often had to ask for plates to be cleared to find a table and lay it yourself but I suppose more staff would mean a higher holiday cost to us. Most staff were extremely friendly and always had smiles on their faces. Restaurant could have been a bit bigger but there are quite a few tables outside.
Another issue was the cleaning but again the cleaners worked extremely hard, but there weren't enough of them which is a management issue and not their fault. They did clean most days and the essentials were done but some things never got touched such as there was thick dust on the wooden headboard and the room we stayed in had obviously just had a new bathroom but you could see the tiles had never been cleaned down, since being laid. Also in every hotel i have ever stayed in you would always see the maids cleaning the glass windows and doors of the communal areas and restaurants but I never saw this being done once and they were filthy.
One excellent comment I have is regarding the maintenance team. We had a couple of very minor issues, such as no phone in room, tv not working and key stuck in lock and within minutes a member of the team arrived to put things right and they were all so accomodating.
Can't comment really on entertainment but it didn't look up to much and I think was really geared to children with nightly kids disco, parrot show, snake show but there was bingo and a singer one night. There were 2 kids reps and they seemed to work really hard keeping them entertained.
Reception area ok and quite spacious. Word of warning, if you take your own laptop you need to be in the basement room below reception to access internet. It took me ages to set up as reception kept giving everyone the wrong connection. Basically you have to chooce the connection with the most signal, i think it was tpverde or something, not Wlan as they give you, as this needs a password. Everyone was helping everyone else. when connecting hit 'I want to access without attaching adaptor' and it will take you straight in. Plently of plug sockets in basement to recharge battery if needed.
All in all for what we paid we can't really complain. With a few changes, but obviously putting the price up, the hotel could certainly have a higher rating than its 2*. Would return to the Aloe but probably not back to Corralejo as no promenade to walk along, have a drink and people watch. If you want a cheap holiday you won't be disappointed.

“ The hotel staff were the friendliest i have ever encountered especially Alvarez the barman & Andres the restaurant manager. The only negative comments Ican make are that the food could have been a bit hotter and that we were asked to pay 35 euros each for the christmas dinner.
