“ This is a large complex with different type of accomodation. I stayed in Gaviotas bungalows which were very nice.Each bungalow have separate roof top terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast or drinks in the evening. It's not really suitable for families with small kids though, as stairs to get to the terrace are very narrow and open.
Location is great, very quiet and just few hundred meters from the beautiful beach. Get some monkey nuts when going to the beach as there's loads of chipmunks waiting to be fed:)
Bungalows located very close to supermarket. Also there are very few restorants just across the road. Plenty of on street parking.
Owerall very nice place, perfect for quiet relaxing holidays. I would go back there any time!

“ Pure paradise! if you’re looking for lots of bars, other English people and plenty to do then this isn’t the place for you. If you are looking for a wonderful apartment in a very quiet resort and complete relaxation, then look no further! This is our second stay and we are already booking again for 2012!

“ Although we had booked a 'Promo' apartment we were given a bungalow right next to the pool - these are really good and well maintained as is the area surrounding the pool. The apartments which are across the road from the area we stayed in, from the outside looked run down and the walkways not well maintained. Also the pool near the apartments doesn't look very nice and had an 'old' feel to it. If we had to stay in these we would not had have such a nice holiday so were very pleased to have been given the bungelow!
The beaches from Bahia Calma towards Jandia are stunning and you can walk to Jandia in about three hours stopping on the way for refreshments on the beach front cafes. The buses run well and it takes about 20mins to get to Jandia. The night life is non existent really with about four restaurants most of which shut early. If you want a totally relaxing holiday with lovely beach walks then this is worth checking out. Good value for money overall.

“ Top Tip: The Spar supermarket on the main road opens until 9pm and sell really good prawns at a cheap price - well worth a try.
Also if you walk along the beach dont panic (like we did!) if the tide comes in as it is possible to follow a dirt track along the top of the hill! Which we only found out after scrabbling back over the rocks one day!
Just a small tip - if you arrive late and reception is closed they leave the keys for your accomodation in an envelope tucked within the bars on the door - something we were unaware of when we arrived! Also the keys for some reason are numbered differently to the accomodation just to add confusion! They add a 1 so it becomes a hundred and whatever the number is! We spent ages looking for our apartment until we realised we had to deduct the first number!

The area is completely geared up for Germans so you may find it helpful to take a German phrase book

They have a market in Bahia Calma on Wednesdays & Sundays which sell the usual fake bags & sunglasses. Hidden in between these stalls are some spanish run stalls selling Aloe Vera, Jewelry etc so worth checking it out.
