Renovated in 2004, this hotel comprises a total of 163 rooms spread over 8 floors. There is a spacious lobby with a 24-hour reception, safe, currency exchange facilities and lift access. Hotel facilities include conference facilities, a hairdressing salon, a games room, a cafe, 2 bars and an air-conditioned a la carte restaurant with a separate non-smoking area and highchairs for infants. There are room and laundry services as well as medical assistance, parking facilities and a bicycle storage and hire facility.This hotel is situated on gentle slopes directly beside the kilometre-long sandy beach of Costa Calma. A range of shopping venues, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and links to the public transport network are located in the hotel's immediate vicinity.The hotel consists of 138 double rooms, 16 single rooms and 9 suites. The comfortable, air-conditioned rooms come with an en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, as well as a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, a minibar, a fridge, a double bed, a safe and a balcony.The centre of the hotel features a sprawling pool terrace with a swimming pool and a children's pool, a poolside snack bar, sun loungers, parasols and wonderful views out over the beach and the surrounding coastline. The hotel also comprises a hot tub and a gym, as well as a sauna and professional massage service (both of the latter come at an additional charge). Sports on offer include water and land-based aerobics, table tennis, squash (rackets for an extra charge), archery and beach volleyball. Billiards, road/mountain bike hire and tennis can be played at locations close to the hotel and for an additional fee. A diverse range of water sports are on offer at the beach. The hotel also offers a seasonal entertainment programme with evening shows to provide some variation for guests.

For a weeks impromptu get away it was ok, but it certainly doesn't deserve 4 star rating. The rooms are spacious but the cleaning isn't up to scratch as there has been an increasing mountain of pigeon pooh building on our balcony.
The food was ok but the choice of meat just wasn't up to it. Only 1 choice of meat, which was 5 times out of 7 reconstituted pork.
The fact that twice a week the main entertainment is in the hall which has at least 50 rooms overlooking it makes it a rather stupid venue for entertainment as it was very noisy.
The location is perfect and of course the beach is fantastic. We don't tend to go to the pool so can't comment on that part of the hotel.
This hotel isn't for elderly, or slightly to severe disabled below the waist as there are just too many steps and stairs. There are only a few lifts, but they are very small and only go from 2 to 5th floor - walk quite a way and then 5th to 8th floor.
The lay out is rather strange.
“ Top Tip: Went to the kite and wind surf beach most days. It's a great walk (4km) and on the way we discovered some lovely beaches and a great little restaurant on top of a small cliff which gives you awsome views and isn't too expensive.

This was our 4th year in Costa Calma and I would say the Hotel was the best so far.
Its front entrance is about 100mtrs from shops, the back entrance is onto the beautiful sandy beach.
A good variety and quality of food was available pretty well all day as were the drinks.
The place was keept very clean and you sometimes got an artistic piece made with Towels and a flower or nightwear when they had been in cleaning the room which they did every day. Put the yes or no sign out to let them know when you're not using the room for a while.
Pretty well all the service was friendly and efficient. Occasionaly not speaking any Spanish or German meant it took longer to communicate.
The entertainment varied from Bingo to Bar Disco to Spanish Dancing display. We even had a display by the Parrots from the local zoo, all of which finnished at 11pm, good if you want to catch up on sleep.

Top Tip:
Take or buy some snorkling gear, I spent 2-3 hours most days watching the wide variety of fish around the rocky bit between our and the next little beach, I spotted about 15 different types of fish, ok some may have been the young of the bigger ones but at times I could see 60 or 70 at a time of several different types.
Hire a car for a day or two preferably on a day that's windier. They seem to be quite cheap here and a fair bit of competition. When you have a car go up into the hills and visit the ancient tiny capital of Betancuria nice little restaurant and fascinating shop with local handicrafts.
Take the bus to the local zoo just north up the coast it's not expensive and well worth a visit.
