Barcelo Jandia Mar Hotel

“ We went to Fuerteventura to just relax, and that is what we got here. We are a couple in 25-30 age group. On the day of arrival, we arrived beyond the closing hours of kitchen, and were allowed to have food without any issues. This hotel is around 4-5 km from the centre of old Moro Jable (30-45 mins walk). Beach is 15 mins from the hotel.However, a caution for people who hate climbing up as this hotel is perched up on a hillock. The main nightlife activities is around centro cosmos (20-25 mins walk) where there are small pubs with dancing floors. Food is good on most of the days, and we were glad to be on an all inclusive package.

“ Top Tip: 1. rent a car at the airport (it will save you money and enable to travel around the island)
2. rent a quad bike at the shopping centre (cosmos) -15-20 mins walk from the hotel- and go for a breath taking ride to Cofete (we loved it- it was a rugged terrain with spectacular views of ocean/mountains
3. Do, explore small villages like Antigua (for authentic tapas), Pajara, and Betancuria

“ Second time we have stayed at this hotel and we would definitely come back. In terms of value for money the all inclusive deal is hard to beat. The rooms are very good and cleaning staff excellent. The hotel layout is really impressive with three pools and beautifully landscaped pathways and gardens. The pools are unfortunately not heated and in the winter months are a bit too cold for swimming. The hotel is located at the top of a steep hill and there are a number of level changes in the grounds/hotel which require steps. Anyone with mobility problems would find it very difficult. The food was very good with a lot of choice. Bar service was excellent and the entertainment was generally of a very good standard.

“ Top Tip: Jandia beach is spectacular - take a walk along the front to Morro Jable to catch the sunset in the beach side bars.

“ We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Jandia Mar. This was our second holiday at the hotel. The food was very good and the entertainment team were excellent and we would definitely rate them 10 out of 10 for professionalism and enthusiasum at all times.

“ I have just returned from spending a fabulous week with my adult son at the Barcelo Jandia Mar. The service that we received was friendly and efficient from the time that we arrived until the moment we left with every member of staff giving us a friendly "Ola!" whenever we met them.
We had a twin standard room that was spacious, well fitted out and very clean with a daily maid service.
We were told that the hotel was 60% full (it was mid-January) and so not surprisingly there was no pressure on sunbeds (it was hot enough to sunbathe though the out door pool was rather nippy!) or restaurant tables.
The food was very good - plenty of variety, no shortages and queuing was kept to a minimum by the efficient kitchen staff.
Shortcomings were hard to find, but if I must then I would have to criticise the lack of English-speaking channels on the tv - but then hey, who goes to Fuerteventura to watch the telly?
Would I go there again - definitely!

“ Top Tip: If you have any mobility issues then you may need a car to get to and from the hotel - it is at the top of a very steep hill. Within the hotel complex there are plenty of lifts, ramps etc so this is not an issue unless leaving the hotel.
